| Research and Innovation office personnel and stakeholders across North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) campuses actively participated in the โReorienting Research and Extension Services for Greater Impact: Strategic Planning, Target Setting, and Collaborationโ activity held on June 1โ2, 2026, at Spacebar Beach Resort, Cagwait, Surigao del Sur.
The two-day activity aimed to strengthen research and extension services through strategic planning, target setting, and enhanced collaboration among stakeholders, ensuring greater impact and alignment with institutional goals and community needs.
The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Abundio C. Miralles, University Extension Specialist V, and Dr. Hussein M. Alawi, University Researcher IV, who shared insights on the roles and functions of research and extension services.
The initiative enhanced participantsโ skills in strategic planning, collaborative decision-making, and effective extension program management, while reinforcing teamwork and stakeholder engagement for more responsive and impactful community research and extension initiatives.

| Faculty researchers from the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Criminal Justice Education of the Satellite Campuses of North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) actively participated in the Training Workshop on Crafting and Publishing High-Quality Papers in Scopus Journals held on May 25-26, 2026, at Grand Monique Hotel, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
The two-day mentoring session was expertly guided by Dr. Arnold C. Alguno, Director for Research Management at MSU-IIT, who shared valuable insights, strategies, and practical techniques in developing publishable research manuscripts aligned with international journal standards. Participants also gained foundational knowledge of Zotero, particularly in managing references and organizing scholarly sources efficiently.
This initiative strengthened the participantsโ research capability, enhanced their confidence in scholarly writing, and inspired a deeper commitment to producing impactful and globally competitive research outputs.
Together, we continue to advance a strong culture of research excellence and academic publication.

| Research Assistants from North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) Tandag Campus actively participated in the Technical Sessions for Research Papers: AI Applications, Scopus Journal Identification, and Reference Management using Zotero held on April 6 and 10, 2026, at the Conference Room, 3rd Floor, Research Building, NEMSU Tandag Campus, Rosario, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur.
The two-day mentoring session was facilitated by Ms. Melani Joy S. Gallardo, University Researcher II, and Mr. El Dixon G. Plazo, University Research Associate II, who provided guidance to research assistants in ethical AI integration, scholarly publication targeting, and efficient citation and reference management, further equipping them to assist in producing quality and globally competitive research outputs.
