Division Roll-Out Training Empowers Primary Health Service Providers with Adolescent Health Care Expertise

In a concerted effort to enhance the quality of healthcare services for adolescents, the Division Roll-Out Training on Adolescent Health Care for Primary Health Service Providers—Foundational Course took place on December 13–14, 2023, at San Agustin Central Elementary School in San Agustin, Romblon.

The two-day training event brought together dedicated healthcare professionals, educators, and stakeholders committed to addressing the unique health needs of adolescents within the community. Organized by the Division Health Units, the training aimed to equip primary health service providers with the essential knowledge and skills required for effective adolescent health care.

The program featured an array of comprehensive sessions, covering topics such as mental health awareness, reproductive health, nutrition, and strategies for fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for adolescents. Renowned experts in adolescent health facilitated the sessions, providing participants with evidence-based information and practical tools to better understand and address the specific challenges faced by adolescents.

The success of the training program reflects the commitment of the school health and education authorities to prioritize the health and well-being of adolescents in the province of Romblon. Romblon, December 10, 2023 - The Special Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) is currently underway in the three designated testing centers of the Schools Division Office (SDO) in Romblon. Students from various grade levels are participating in this assessment aimed at gauging their academic proficiency.

The testing centers, namely Romblon East Central School, Odiongan National High School, and Cajidiocan National High School, are bustling with activity as students diligently answer the examination papers. The PEPT plays a crucial role in determining the appropriate grade level for learners who may have missed formal schooling or are seeking acceleration.

Romblon Provincial Capitol Park, November 21, 2023 – The Romblon Provincial Capitol Park was bathed in golden light as the Department of Education (DepEd) in Romblon hosted the much-anticipated IWAG BULAWAN: Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat. This glittering event, held on the evening of November 21, 2023, aimed to recognize and express gratitude to outstanding educators and school personnel for their remarkable contributions to education in the province.

IWAG BULAWAN, which translates to "Golden Light" in English, is an initiative of DepEd-Romblon that seeks to celebrate and honor the exemplary dedication and achievements of teachers, school heads, and employees who have made a significant impact on the educational landscape of Romblon.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome from DepEd-Romblon officials, expressing their deep appreciation for the unwavering commitment of educators in shaping the minds of the youth and fostering a culture of learning in the province.

The highlight of the night was the awarding ceremony, where educators and school personnel were recognized in various categories for their outstanding performance, innovation, and dedication. Awards were given not only for academic achievements but also for efforts in promoting inclusivity, community engagement, and the use of technology in education.
