Due to Typhoon Uwan and for the safety of all participants and attendees, the Sayawitan 2025 โ€“ AMME Cluster event scheduled on November 8, 2025 will be POSTPONED until further notice.

On September 26, 2025, during the onslaught of Typhoon Opong, Mabini Elementary School sustained significant structural damage, particularly to the roofing of several classrooms. Strong winds and heavy rainfall caused portions of the galvanized iron sheets to be blown off or severely bent.

Temporary flood control measures made of sandbags were overwhelmed and displaced during the height of the flooding. The force of the rising water, intensified by strong currents and continuous heavy rainfall, caused the sandbags to be swept away.

Part of the roof of one of the resthhouses were also blown off by the strong winds.
