𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | “A Light in the Darkness Gala 2025” Brings Holynians Together for a Night of Elegance and Unity

Students of the Holy Face of Jesus Lyceum of San Jose Inc. gathered on Saturday, July 19, for their annual Acquaintance Party, held from 3:00 Pm to 9:00 Pm at the Montalban Gymnasium. With the theme “A Light in the Darkness: Gala 2025,” the event aimed to strengthen friendships, spark joy, and provide a meaningful academic break for the students.

The Holynians entered the venue with excitement and anticipation. As the venue gradually filled, the students' energy grew with smiles and laughter echoing throughout the space - an expression of their eagerness to win a lot of prizes and meet new friends.

To break the ice, Ms. Jocel Decoreña, a Home Economics Adviser, and Ms. Donna Mae Azotea, a Accountancy and Business Management Adviser, hosted a series of fun and engaging activities that promoted interaction, teamwork, and laughter among students from various strands.

At around 4:30 Pm, the Cottilion Dance began, with each strand showcasing prepared and meaningful performances that blended grace and creativity.

As the evening continued, focus turned to the much-anticipated Mr. And Ms. Acquaintance 2025 pageant, which commenced at 7:15 Pm.

Not long after, the results of the Cottilion Dance were announced, with the HUMSS strand declared overall champion for their outstanding performance, celebrating their dedication and unity on stage.

The party was more than just a formal gathering- it was a celebration of student spirit, connection, and shared joy, in a space where everyone felt seen, welcomed, and included.

As the night drew to a close, “A Light in the Darkness 2025” truly lived up to its theme- reminding that even in the darkest of times, joy and togetherness can shine the brightest.

In this wonderful moment, we gather as one to help those in need, an act of 𝐵𝑎𝑦𝑎𝑛𝑖ℎ𝑎𝑛 showing the true spirit of every Filipino. 🇵🇭

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐜. successfully distributed relief goods to typhoon victims, led by the Office of Student Affairs on July 29–August 1, 2025.

In times of disaster, we step up, creating small gestures that have a big impact to the victims.

Let us all applaud the volunteers; this great accomplishment is a testament to your efforts, dedication, and unwavering support.

Sa pakikiisa ng Holy Face of Jesus Lyceum of San Jose Inc. sa ℬ𝓊𝓌𝒶𝓃 𝓃ℊ 𝒲𝒾𝓀𝒶 nagdaos ang HUMSS Society ng patimpalak ng 𝒮𝒾𝓂𝓊𝓁𝒶𝓈𝓎ℴ𝓃 𝓃ℊ 𝒫𝒶ℊ𝓀𝒶𝓉𝒶ℴ ngayong araw, ika-20 ng Agosto taong 2025. Ang patimpalak na ito ay nagsilbi bilang paalala sa mga estudyante, g**o, at lahat ng taong dumalo na ating 𝒾𝓈𝒶𝓅𝓊𝓈ℴ, 𝒶𝓁𝒶𝓁𝒶𝒽𝒶𝓃𝒾𝓃, 𝒶𝓉 𝒾𝓈𝒶𝒷𝓊𝒽𝒶𝓎 ang pagiging Pilipino.

Nagsimula ang programa sa dasal na pinangunahan ni 𝑩𝒃. 𝑨𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒚𝒂 na isa sa kinatawan ng Supreme Student Council. Kalaunan ay pinakilala ni 𝑮. 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓, na siyang nagsilbing tagapagdaloy ng programa ang mga hurado na nagmula sa iba't ibang istrand na sina 𝑮. 𝑹𝒆𝒚𝒓𝒆𝒙 𝑷𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒚𝒐 mula sa ABM, 𝑩𝒃. 𝑯𝒖𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝑲𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝑺𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒐 ng H.E, 𝑩𝒃. 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒆 𝑺. 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒊ñ𝒂𝒏 ng Humanista, 𝑩𝒃. 𝑪𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒆 𝑨. 𝑨𝒍𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒐𝒏 ng ICT, at 𝑩𝒃. 𝑳𝒆𝒏𝒚 𝑻. 𝑭𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒆 ng STEM.

Sa dalawapu't apat na estudyanteng lumahok upang ipakita ang kanilang pakikiisa sa Buwan ng Wika, sampu lamang ang natirang matibay at pinili ng mga hurado:

Matagumpay na natapos ang 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆 na pinangunahan ng Humanities at Social Science (HUMSS) Society bilang pagdiriwang sa Buwan ng Wika 2025 na may temang "𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒂 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒐 𝒂𝒕 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒃𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒊𝒌𝒂: 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒌𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒊𝒔𝒂 𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒂", sa Holy Face of Jesus Lyceum of San Jose Inc., Annex building nitong Agosto 20, 2025.

Nilalayon ng patimpalak na ito na maipakita ng mga mag-aaral na kinatawan ng bawat strand ang kanilang galing sa pag-arte sa kanilang napiling pelikulang Pilipino.

Naging hurado sa nasabing kompetisyon sina 𝐆. 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐫𝐞𝐱 𝐏𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐲𝐨 (g**o sa ABM), 𝐁𝐛. 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐊𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐨 (g**o sa H.E), 𝐁𝐛. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐒. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐢ñ𝐚𝐧 (g**o sa HUMSS), 𝐁𝐛. 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐀. 𝐀𝐥𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐧 (g**o sa ICT) at 𝐁𝐛. 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐲 𝐓. 𝐅𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞 (g**o sa STEM). Si 𝐆. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑. 𝐌𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 naman ang naging tagapagdaloy ng patimpalak.

Mahusay na ipinakita ng bawat kalahok ang kanilang galing sa pagganap at pagbigkas ng naisulat nilang iskrip galing sa mga napusuan nilang pelikula. Sa kabilang dako, hiyawan at sigawan naman ng bawat estudyante ang narinig sa paligid bilang pagsuporta sa mga kumatawan ng kanilang strand.

Nakamit ng 𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐒𝐒 ang kampeonato matapos ang matinding labanan ng bawat strand dahil sa kanilang mahusay na pagganap sa pelikulang “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞”.

Nakuha rin ng dalawa pang pangkat galing sa nasabing strand ang ikalawa at ikatlong puwesto dahil sa kakayahan nilang pagbabahagi ng pelikulang “𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞” at “𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬”.

Hindi naman nagpahuli ang 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 at 𝐈𝐂𝐓 nang mag-uwi sila ng ikaapat na puwesto nang kanila'y pagbidahan ang pelikulang “𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝟏𝟗𝟒𝟏” at “𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐤”.

Hindi rin nagpatinag ang isa pang pangkat mula sa 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌 at wagi nitong nakamtan ang ikalimang puwesto sa kanilang pagganap ng pelikulang “𝐔𝐧/𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮”.

On September 13, 2025, Holy Face of Jesus Lyceum of San Jose held a 𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑺𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓 at Christine Ville Subdivision covered court from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The event was led by 𝑴𝒓𝒔. 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑱𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝑪. 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒔 (𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒓), 𝑴𝒔. 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑻𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆 (𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒓), 𝑵𝒂𝒔𝒉 𝑲𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑰𝒃𝒂ñ𝒆𝒛 (𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒐 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆), 𝑴𝒓. 𝑬𝒖𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒐 𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒐, along with faculty, non-teaching staff, The Pen Point, Student Council, and the Scout organization.

𝑴𝒔. 𝑵𝒂𝒔𝒉 𝑲𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑰𝒃𝒂ñ𝒆𝒛 commenced the seminar by introducing the guest speaker, 𝑴𝒓. 𝑲𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒛𝒂𝒓, 𝑹𝑷𝒎, 𝑴𝑷𝑨.The speaker initiated the discussion with thought-provoking questions: “𝑂𝑘𝑎𝑦 𝑝𝑎 𝑏𝑎 𝑘𝑎𝑦𝑜? 𝐾𝑖𝑙𝑎𝑙𝑎 𝑛𝑖𝑦𝑜 𝑝𝑎 𝑏𝑎 𝑚𝑔𝑎 𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑛𝑖𝑦𝑜? 𝐴𝑙𝑎𝑚 𝑝𝑎 𝑏𝑎 𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑔𝑎 𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑛𝑖𝑦𝑜 𝑘𝑢𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑜 𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑎ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑛𝑖𝑦𝑜?” These questions prompted deep reflection among the students.

This seminar served as an eye-opener, particularly for students facing pressure, loneliness, or personal struggles as they come to school. The key message was clear: 𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊 𝒌𝒂 𝒏𝒂𝒈-𝒊𝒊𝒔𝒂, 𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏 𝒌𝒂, 𝒎𝒂𝒈-𝒑𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝒂𝒕 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒎.

The 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒚 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒔 𝑽𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒚𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 fell short against FEU-RGVT in their first prelims match, dropping the game in straight sets, 𝟮𝟰–𝟮𝟲, 𝟭𝟵–𝟮𝟱, at Eastern Valley High, today September 18, 2025.

In the first set, HF showed grit and determination, pushing FEU-R to the brink in a nail-biting 𝟮𝟰–𝟮𝟲 finish.

HF continued to fight hard in the second set but were edged out, 𝟭𝟵–𝟮𝟱, as FEU-R secured the match in straight sets.

Though the game ended in defeat, HF displayed admirable grit and teamwork, underscoring their passion to compete in future matches.
