The Philippines is highly vulnerable to impacts of climate change because of its archipelago. Effects are extreme weather events, rising temperature, excessive rainfall and others that hit the country severely. Because of this, our government together with other NGO’s are seeking ways to mitigate climate change and educate individuals to adapt methods and necessary actions that will limit global warming and its related effects.
The office of Environmental Education and Biodiversity Research Center would also like to initiate an environmental campaign through series of webinars. The objective of the activity is to reach out specific individuals and instil an important advocacy on environmental conservation thus, mitigating effects of climate change.
Resource speakers will be experts of the topics and coming from government agencies. The activity will be in collaboration with Office of University Extension Services, Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Institute (SANRI) and URS Tanay Campus.

The University of Rizal System with the office of Environmental Education and Biodiversity Research Center is one with the celebration of World Wildlife Day 2021!

As part of the initiative of the University, included in our Environmental Management Guidelines is the protection of the ANIMALS IN THE CAMPUS. In accordance with the RA 8485, otherwise known as the Animal Welfare Act of 1998 and the RA 9147 which provides for the conservation as well as protection of wildlife resources and their habitats. Animals must be allowed to live in their natural habitats and capturing them are strictly prohibited.

URS Tanay Campus is approximately 92.4 hectares with 6 ha locally declared protected area through BOR No. 028-25809 dated October 5, 2009.
