For almost 40 years, Mrs. Lorna Bobier Boca has been part of the San Ildefonso College community, witnessing its changes, meeting generations of students, and finding meaning in the work she continues to do.
Her journey began with a simple yet unforgettable moment as a Grade 6 student when she saw the college's sign and felt a calling to become part of its mission. Inspired by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters, she embraced a vocation rooted in faith. That calling became the foundation of a lifetime of dedicated service.
Mrs. Boca began serving San Ildefonso College in 1990 and faithfully fulfilled various roles, including secretary, part-time college instructor, and registrar staff. Through each responsibility, she grew alongside the institution with unwavering commitment. Her story reflects a life dedicated to faith, community, and service. It stands as a lasting testament to the values that define San Ildefonso College.

For 36 years, San Ildefonso College has been more than a place where I serve, it has been the haven of my vocation. Yet my story with SIC began long before I stepped into the halls as an employee. I remember that time, when I was in Grade 6 studying at SES, our volleyball team played on the patio of San Ildefonso Parish Church. From there I saw this big signage of San Ildefonso College. To many people it was a normal signage, but for me it was not just a signage, it is a quiet whisper from God, a calling that embedded deep within me. That lifelong calling has motivated me to decide that I will and should be part of this institution.

Working at San Ildefonso College has been both a blessing and a source of fulfillment. It gave me the opportunity to pursue my vocation but also the means to support my family while making every year of service truly worthwhile. I cannot point to just one unforgettable moment because every experience was memorable and meaningful. But there is this most meaningful part of my journey and it was when I am facing lifeโs hardships alongside with the people who supported me and never left my side. San Ildefonso College became more than a workplace, it became the witness to my growth and how I successfully managed to uplift myself and my family.

San Ildefonso College has always held a special place in my heart, which is why finding a new job didnโt cross my mind. Choosing to stay was a decision I made with gratitude, knowing that this is the institution where I wanted to dedicate my year of service until retirement. What I treasure most as a member of the SIC family is that this institution became a place where I was able to build and provide for my family. I am deeply grateful to the leaders who guided and believed in me throughout the yearsโfrom Sr. Aurora Lloren, RVM, Fr. Jun Arellano, Fr. Pax Gallego, Fr. Marce Prudente, Fr. Pepe Pedraja, Sr. Mary Eileen Mediana, and Msgr. Peter Canonero, to my lay supervisors, Mr. Sergio Nocheseda, Dr. Evangeline Mascao, Mrs. Rufina Perlado, and Mrs. Feliciana Atienza. Each of them became a source of wisdom, encouragement, and inspiration, and I am honored to have learned from their leadership. Also I am grateful to my co โ employees, who shared their journey with me through moments of laughter and to countless memories.

San Ildefonso College has become more than just a workplace, it became the second home for my children. I am grateful that all 3 of them were able to study at SIC from kindergarten through high school. Through the support of employee benefits, salary deductions, and scholarship provided by Msgr. Peter Canonero, I was blessed to provide them with a quality Catholic education. This reason became my greatest inspirations to continue serving the institution with dedication and gratitude.

Staying at SIC was never about money or financial reward. It is more than that, this institution became my greatest blessing, it became the second home of my 3 sons, which led them to be closer to God. I was able to raise my children with fear of God, respects for others and love for our family alongside with the quality education and help by the institution. At present 2 of my children are already employed and my youngest is currently pursuing in San Carlos Seminary to fulfill his heartโs desire to become a priest. SIC gave me more than a material success, it gives me peace of mind and purpose. This institution nurtured me, my family and my vocation, and it made me complete as who I am in the present. Most of all, I thank our Lord God, with the help of San Ildefonso de Toledo, our patron saint. Life goes on, and so does the service for my beloved school, San Ildefonso College.
