"He who loves to walk will walk further than he who loves the destination, no matter the conditions."
-Tinamad hanapin kung sino nagsulat.
Today, yesterday was our recognition day. Our first year of high school has come to a close. I'm already starting to dread the days I won't see my friends. I really hope that we still communicate with eachother over our break. I've had a lot of fun for my first year back since the pandemic. I wonder what other things highschool has in store for me.
I was one of the top honorees this school year but not the highest though. I know a lot of people expected more from me and I'm sorry to say that I may have disappointed you. Aiming higher is definitely a good thing but sometimes a little bit of consistency wouldn't hurt. If you can aim high and maintain it, then go. But in the cases that you can't, lay low and go up slowly.
My grades have definitely seen better days but I don't get the satisfaction of getting high grades anymore. It's not that I don't care about my grades, it's just that it gets tiring to keep up. Some might not be happy with my grades, but I'm happy with myself.

Today, not every day is good one, but there is something good in every day. No world is "ideal". Any ideal world that you may think of will be torn apart by the constant change and evolution our world experiences.
We can try to escape the cruelty and negativity this world has by hoping and imagining for a new world; but it will never last. The ideal world is the one we fight for. (

Today, the day right after yesterday, I learned about the rapeture. It's the second coming when both the living and the dead who have accepted Jesus in their life as their Lord and Savior will rise to heaven. It's nice how simple it is to go to Heaven but sometimes I wonder, if Heaven is really nice and all, why make the requirement to go there be so simple. Anyways that's all.

Today, yeah, THIS today, the daily learning might need to be a bit short because my Facebook on the website won't load properly AND IT KEEPS ON GETTIN G STUCK ON LOADING. Anyways, I learned about sources of information. There are 2 kinds. Print and Digital. Print sources of information are the hard copies. Books, magazines, newspapers, etc. While digital are things that can be found online. Think blogs, research studies, Videos, TV, and many others. It's good to show where you got your information from so that, one, you can give credits to where you gathered your info from, and two, to show that you didn't make up the facts yourself.

"If gravity were a slightly more powerful, the universe would collapse into a ball. And if it were slightly less powerful, the universe would fly apart and there would be no stars or planets."
This day, a rare, one-of-a-kind day, was very special. Because for the first time during this school year, our Filipino teacher, Sir Darwin was absent.
Aside from that, I learned about anecdotes. There's nothing much to say about them apart from they're short narratives.
I also learned about paradoxes. Specifically, this one omnipotence paradox. The paradox goes as, " If God can do anything and everything imaginable, can He create an object he cannot carry?". The answer may seem unclear because it tackles the logical limits of omnipotence, the possession of great, or unlimited power. The answer boils down to your interpretation of omnipotence and your philosophical beliefs.
"The precision of the universe makes it logical to believe there is a creator."

Today, the day that is this day, I didn't process that much information. I woke up and felt really tired. But here's what I learned at the very least. Sir Roger showed us this app. It's an app where you can watch ads and earn money from watching them. But before you can cash out, you need to gather a certain amount of people to download the app. The idea seemed very sketchy to me. I didn't think it doesn't pay out. I thought that it was some sort of malpractice.
The point of ads is to be put between media or content as a sort of break from what you're doing and to gather attention to the service or product that's being advertised. The thing is, you don't voluntarily watch ads. Sure, some allow you to skip or close them, but you don't really yearn (cant think of any other word) for ads to appear. It just happens. So in the app that sir Roger showed us, it doesn't seem like it's legitimate because you're choosing to watch ads for the money, and the business still gets money too based on how many ads you watch.

Today, the day when yesterday became yesterday, I learned about imperatives. There are both positive and negative imperatives. Positive imperatives are things that you should do. Negative ones are things that you shouldn't.
The way I see it, positive imperatives are things that you should aim for. Goals that you should set for yourself. While negative imperatives are like restrictions for you. Things that you should avoid doing. Self-boundaries. Both of these things may help you to improve if you give yourself a set of positive and negative imperatives and follow them.

Today, is a one-time day. CEMS concluded yesterday so today was the awarding. I got first in our escape room event, but I feel like it was rather undeserved since kuya Ephi did most of the work. But it still feels pretty good to win. Looking back at it now, I probably could have done better if I took things more seriously. It would probably be better if I care a bit more about my academics. But so far, my grades have been consistent. Though compared to last school year, they've definitely taken a turn for the worse.

Today, two days after two days ago, I learned about fantasy. It's about using your mind and creativity to imagine a separate world from that of the one we live in. Fantasy is usually thinking about your something that is unreachable, or something you wish to achieve. Just like person A liking person B, but person A isn't putting in any work or effort to make something happen between them.
Today was also the day for the extemporaneous speech. It was fun but seemed so lifeless. I didn't get some of the ground rules like why you can't clap or introduce yourself. But that's besides the point. The topic was once again about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and it's implementations in robotics. It wasn't that good of a topic compared to the other ones. It basically just showcased what a basic robot could do.
The other participants did really well. I can't say so for myself... I started blanking out before I even reached the 30 second mark. I probably disappointed some people with my performance, so I apologize.
We also did an escape room. Kuya Epi carried us on his back for most of it, one of the interesting things about the escape room is that if we solve the question wrong, one of our groupmates has to get ejected. Thankfully, none of us got ejected and we were all able to participate.
The last event for the CEMS week was The Amazing Race. Before we we're even able to participate, we were already on a rollercoaster of emotions. When it was about to be our turn, the group before us (group 10) came up and told us that they called off the rest of the event and made us wait for further announcement. We were waiting for like 20 minutes until I asked one of the teachers what were we waiting for. He told us that the event was gonna' continue and they were trying to finalize that decision.
During the actual event when it was our turn, it got very messy. You had to crawl on crushed charcoal for the first obstacle. And almost every challenge involved digging through flour to find the question to move on to the next obstacle. But each question was buried under flour. And the only way we were allowed to get it out was to BLOW THE FLOUR out of the bowl.
By the end of the event, I practically looked like Jack Frost with a beard like Santa. Stick my head in the oven and it'll probably come out breaded. To clean up, I used a tabo and poured water over my head. It was a great way to end an eventful day.

Today, indeed, this day, I learned that we should be more wary about taking risks. Sometimes, the illusion of the big reward, covers up the consequences of failure. I heard this saying, it said "You can end on a loss.". I know it's used typically used for games, but some people have this same mentality for gambling, which isn't good. Gambling is just risk taking, which is why we should consider the consequences and control ourselves from going too far.

Yesterday, the day before yesterday, one day before today, and two more days before today, I forgot to post. Meaning I owe you 3 lessons including the one today; and here they are.
1. A loss does not make a loser. Even if you placed dead last in a competition or contest, be glad you were able to participate. Be happy that you were able to learn and improve from your mistakes and from the mistakes of others. Because even if you lose, if you learn and strive to improve, that part of you will be the real winner.
2. Yesterday, I learned about extemporaneous speech. From what I understood, extemporaneous speech is when you are tasked to write a speech about a prompt or a topic. It isn't like delivering a monologue or a memorized script. It's a speech you prepare for, and don't memorize.
The prompt I was given was about how AI has caused a cheating fiasco in many schools because students are using AI language models to do their assignments and papers. My speech was about how, yes, there are ways to spot when it is made by an AI, it isn't a permanent solution. I believe that it should be implemented into the education system.
AI can be used for a more personalized learning experience. It can analyze your strengths, weaknesses and learning styles, and can create a more adaptive learning environment that is made for the way you learn and consume information. This allows students to work on their own pace and focus on the areas that need improvement.
3. Today, I learned about graphic organizers. Sir RV made it very easy to understand with his interesting, yet effective way of delivering information. It's very attention grabbing. A graphic organizer basically gets a bunch of ideas, and well, organizes them.
This can help make your ideas look cleaner and less cluttered when you try to write them down. It helps to organize things since it's easier on the eyes, and you can easily find something that you're looking for.

Today, as of today, and the day before tomorrow, I learned that you may not always win, but there will always be room to improve. And I believe that any kind of improvement will always be considered a win.
