In a vibrant display of community spirit, Campus Extension Services teamed up with Triskelion Elders, the Tourism Society, and the Tourism Management Association to host a memorable Christmas outreach program for children in the remote Sitio Tablon, Brgy. Cuyambay. Held in the heart of the community's modest church chapel, the event brought smiles, games, and gifts to dozens of eager kids, fostering holiday joy amid the lush Rizal countryside.
The initiative, which unfolded on a Friday morning, was spearheaded by Campus Extension Head and Tourism Society Adviser Dr. Medyline Almedina. Joining her were key representatives from the partnering groups, including dedicated TourSoc officers: Izzobelle Medoza (Treasurer), Sheena Malabanan (Ambassadress), Carl Matawaran (2nd Year representative), Christine Balante (Business Manager), and Lou Campo (1st Year Representative). Their presence highlighted the strong collaboration between student organizations and community elders, turning the outreach into a true collective effort.
The program commenced with a solemn opening prayer, setting a tone of gratitude and togetherness. This was followed by inspiring Christmas messages from Dr. Medyline Almedina and Mr. Jerold Fuentes, president of Triskelion Elders. Energy levels soared as the children dove into a series of lively parlor games, from classic favorites to interactive challenges that had everyone laughing and cheering. These activities not only built anticipation but also encouraged teamwork and fun, creating lasting memories for the young participants. The highlight of the event arrived with the gift-giving ceremony, where each child received thoughtfully wrapped presents sparking waves of excitement and grateful hugs. Volunteers ensured every child left with something special. The event concluded on a warm note with closing remarks that reflected on the day's success and the power of unity, followed by a communal breakfast. Families gathered, strengthening bonds and leaving with full hearts.
