What most strongly predicts adult learners’ use of AI for lifelong learning? An interdisciplinary empirical study in Philippine higher education provides a clear answer: 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲.

✅ Access and Inclusivity, strongest predictor of adult learners’ use of AI.

𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑼𝒑 𝑪𝑨𝑫 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 ✏️💻

CAD learning readiness plays an important role in how students engage with computer-aided design coursework. This study examined CAD learning readiness and its relationship with students’ access, connectivity, and learning conditions. Findings showed high perceived usefulness and intrinsic motivation, while CAD self-efficacy was comparatively lower and more variable.

🔍 𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒:
✅ High perceived usefulness and intrinsic motivation toward CAD learning.
✅ Self-efficacy and ease of use were strongly associated with readiness.
✅ Internet reliability significantly influenced CAD learning readiness.
✅ Hardware capability showed a smaller but significant effect.

The findings highlight that CAD learning readiness is shaped by both learner confidence and learning conditions, emphasizing the need for confidence-building support and connectivity-resilient course design.

This research contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by highlighting the importance of accessible, supportive, and technology-responsive learning environments.

𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 📐💻

A recent exploratory study investigated the development and classroom use of digital instructional materials for Calculus 1 with Analytic Geometry, designed to support demo-lecture preparation among pre-service mathematics teachers. Guided by the ADDIE instructional design model and Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction, the study found generally positive evaluations of the materials, particularly in terms of visual clarity, organization, and accuracy.

🔍 𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒:
✅ Materials received positive evaluations in content, format, organization, and accuracy.
✅ Visual clarity was identified as a key strength.
✅ Materials supported lesson sequencing and concept visualization.
✅ They helped enhance teaching confidence during demo-lectures.
✅ The study offers a preliminary workflow for future mathematics education research.

The findings highlight the potential of thoughtfully designed digital resources to support mathematics instruction while emphasizing the need for further validation through larger and more diverse studies.

As Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) becomes increasingly integrated into education, how are students using these tools in their multimedia learning?

A recent study examined GenAI use among 288 students at a Philippine private university, focusing on how AI tools are integrated into student-led multimedia coursework. The findings revealed that 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗚𝗣𝗧, 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶, and 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘃𝗮 𝗔𝗜 were the most commonly used tools, particularly for presentation-based and collaborative academic tasks.

🔍 𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒:
✅ GenAI use is becoming part of everyday multimedia coursework.
✅ ChatGPT, Gemini, and Canva AI were the most used AI tools.
✅ Students reported high creative self-efficacy and learning satisfaction.
✅ GenAI use was positively associated with creative self-efficacy and learning satisfaction.
✅ Critical GenAI use was comparatively lower, highlighting the need for stronger instructional support for critical and reflective AI use.

The findings show that GenAI can support creativity and learning, while highlighting the need for critical and responsible AI use.

This research supports SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting responsible AI use in education.
