CENTRAL OFFICE โ€” Nakipagpulong ngayong araw si National Dairy Authority (NDA) Administrator Atty. Marcus Antonius T. Andaya kay Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino upang talakayin ang interes ng mga State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) sa buong bansa na makibahagi sa pagpapaunlad ng lokal na dairy industry at sa pagbuo ng mas kumpletong dairy value chain, mula milk production hanggang milk processing at toll processing.

Kabilang sa mga tinalakay ang posibleng paggamit ng mga NDA Stock Farm bilang training grounds ng mga SUCs para sa kanilang on-the-job training (OJT) programs at iba pang hands-on training. Sa pamamagitan nito, maaaring magkaroon ang mga estudyante ng aktuwal na exposure sa dairy farming, animal management, breeding, at iba pang operasyon ng stock farm.

Iminungkahi rin ng CHED na magkaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga estudyante na magkaroon ng practical experience bilang extension workers sa mga breeding programs ng NDA. The turnover is part of the governmentโ€™s effort to address funding deficiencies in its free higher education program. House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson Mikaela Angela B. Suansing said the House will continue working with the Commission on Higher Education, the Department of Budget and Management, and SUCs to address the underlying causes of those deficiencies.

CHEDโ€™s proposed 2027 budget has successfully hurdled plenary deliberations at the House of Representatives, advancing the funding needed to sustain Free Higher Education and student financial assistance, strengthen higher education institutions, and support teaching, research, innovation, and workforce development.
CHED Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis joined the plenary as Rep. Monique Yazmin Maria Q. Lagdameo (1st District, Makati City) sponsored and defended the Commissionโ€™s proposed budget before the House.
Chairperson Agrupis thanked Rep. Lagdameo and the House Committee on Appropriations, chaired by Rep. Mikaela Angela B. Suansing (1st District, Nueva Ecija), for their support and careful consideration of CHEDโ€™s funding priorities.
The successful completion of plenary deliberations marks another important stage in the 2027 national budget process. As the 2027 national budget moves through Congress, CHED will continue working with the legislators to address remaining funding gaps and seek the restoration of resources necessary to sustain existing student benefits and ensure that learners currently covered by government higher education programs continue to receive support.

The Office of CHED Commissioner Ricmar P. Aquino expresses its deepest grief and heartfelt condolences on the untimely passing of Governor Dakila Carlo "Dax" E. Cua, Governor of the Province of Quirino.

Gov. Dax was a visionary leader, an exemplary public servant, and a steadfast champion of progress not only in Quirino and Region II, but across the entire nation through his national leadership. His dedication to good governance, youth empowerment, and advancing education has left an indelible mark on the lives of countless Filipinos.

We join the people of Quirino, his colleagues in public service, and the entire Cagayan Valley in mourning the loss of a true statesman.

Our thoughts and fervent prayers are with Congresswoman Midy Cua, their family, loved ones, and the entire Quirinoan community during this time of profound grief.
