The country may soon criminalize the deliberate spread of disinformation.

House Bill 11506, filed by Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, proposes prison terms of six to 12 years and fines up to P2 million for those who create or fund fake news operations, including troll farms.

While the bill exempts satire, opinion, and good-faith reporting, critics question enforcement in a country where state actors have been accused of weaponizing falsehoods.

Rodriguez says the measure balances free speech with democratic accountability.

Challenging talaga ang Reading Comprehension dahil kailangang nauunawaan ang binasa at piliin ang pinakaangkop na sagot sa bawat tanong. Nauna nang ni-report ng Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) noong 2018 at 2022 na huli o kulelat ang mga Pilipinong mag-aaral na edad 15 sa Reading Comprehension, malaking dahilan kung bakit isinulong natin ang “English Competency Ordinance of Bataan” na naglalayong pagalingin ang mga Bataeño sa English, isang international business language, lalo na’t kilala ang Bataan na “Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit” sa hanay ng mga lalawigan.

Sa dulo ng presentation, nag-iwan tayo ng ilang tips:

1. Learn a new word daily by reading newspapers everyday, identifying unknown words and noting their definitions. Then, use these words whenever possible.

2. If reading feels like a chore, redefine your concept of recreation to include reading; otherwise, explore alternatives (e.g., audio books).

3. Read for content, grammar, and style.

4. Use creative and convenient techniques to improve grammar and expand vocabulary, like listening to podcasts and researching on Google.

5. When unfamiliar with a word, seek contextual clues to inform your understanding.

6. When reading, take cues from lead paragraphs and topic sentences.

7. Avoid reading to yourself; train yourself to read mentally.

8. Pay close attention to punctuation marks.

9. Confidence is key.
