From Awareness to Action: Earthquake Preparedness at OLHPS

OLHPSians gathered at the Multipurpose Hall for an Earthquake Preparedness Orientation facilitated by the Prefect of Discipline, Teacher Marivic. The activity helped learners understand the importance of being prepared and informed about the proper safety measures to observe before, during, and after an earthquake.

Following the orientation, the learners participated in an earthquake simulation drill, allowing them to apply what they had learned and practice appropriate emergency response procedures. Through this activity, OLHPS continues to promote a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience among its learners and school community.

๐Ÿ“š LEARNERSโ€™ ORIENTATION CONTINUES

As the first week of classes progresses, OLHPSians continue to participate in a series of meaningful orientation sessions designed to help them become more familiar with the schoolโ€™s programs, services, and opportunities for growth.

During the synchronous session held on Wednesday, Sister Stephen Mary Parangue, LIHM, introduced the new OLHPS Vision and Mission. The session concluded with a bookmark-making activity where learners creatively expressed their understanding and interpretation of the schoolโ€™s guiding principles.

On Thursday, the Intermediate Level learners were oriented on the programs and activities of the Student Development Center, facilitated by Ms. Patricia Alavera, Student Development Coach. This was followed by an orientation from the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, led by Mission School Principal Mrs. Juliet V. Ramiscal.

Today, the school librarian, Mr. Ervy Bryan Alejandrino, introduced the learners to the various services and resources offered by the Library Unit.

The weekโ€™s orientation activities will conclude with presentations from the different school clubs and the Earthquake Awareness and Simulation, further equipping OLHPSians with knowledge and preparedness as they begin another meaningful school year.

DOCES Community, only one day left before classes begin!

Our schools are more than places of learningโ€”they are Places of Hope, where dreams are nurtured, faith is strengthened, and young minds are prepared to face life's challenges with courage and purpose.

There may be challenges along the way, but let us take heart. Have courage and do not be afraid. With God by our side and with one another as companions on this journey, we can overcome difficulties and grow stronger through them.

As we begin a new academic year, let us hold on to hope and trust that God continues to guide us through every step of our journey. No matter the challenges we may encounter, hope reminds us that every new beginning is an opportunity to grow, learn, and flourish.

Let us hear a special message of welcome and encouragement from our DOCES Superintendent, Rev. Fr. Raymond Joseph L. Arre, as we prepare to begin another year of learning, growth, and service.

Together, let us continue building schools that inspire, transform, and become true Places of Hope.
