The EDSA People Power Revolution was a peaceful four-day uprising from February 22–25, 1986, that ended the 20-year rule of President Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines. It was sparked by widespread dissatisfaction over corruption, human rights abuses, economic decline, and the 1983 assassination of opposition leader Benigno Aquino Jr., which intensified public outrage. After a disputed snap election between Marcos and Corazon Aquino in 1986, key military officials withdrew their support from the regime, prompting millions of Filipinos—supported by religious leaders and civil society groups—to gather peacefully along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Metro Manila. Through nonviolent protests, prayers, and acts of solidarity, the movement successfully pressured Marcos to flee the country, leading to Aquino’s presidency and the restoration of democracy.

Everyone delighted in the refreshing breeze, the delicious sweets, the warmth of the sun, and the lively cheers of the crowd. The entire campus was filled with excitement, laughter, and unity as students, teachers, alumni, and visitors came together to celebrate. This remarkable event created lasting memories for each one of us and strengthened the bond within our school community. Many also actively participated in the different games and activities prepared for the celebration. Several students and teachers managed booths where they sold snacks, beverages, and various items. The Foundation Week featured thrilling intramural competitions, interactive booths such as the photobooth, jail booth, marriage booth, and confession booth, as well as the much-anticipated Battle of the Alumni. Moreover, the presence of visiting students from other schools added to the excitement and made the celebration even more vibrant and meaningful.

𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼, 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘄?
It feels like the holiday break is already slipping away—even though there are still 𝟴 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗳𝘁. Enough time to rest, to enjoy the moments, and maybe panic just a little about what’s waiting when classes resume.
𝗦𝗼, 𝗡𝗶𝗻̃𝗮𝗻𝘀, 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸-𝗶𝗻: have you already finished your LAS, PETAs, and journals, or are they still on your “I’ll do it later” list? 😅 The vacation isn’t over yet, but reality is slowly tapping us on the shoulder.
Let’s make the most of the remaining days—rest while we can, catch up if we need to, and hold on to the holiday feeling just a bit longer before it’s time to head back.
𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝟭 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭 𝗱𝗮𝘆!
