ARTIFICIAL INITELLIGENCE IS NOT INHERENTLY MALICIOUS. In the right hands, artificial intelligence has made breakthroughs and advancements in various fields we previously thought impossible. In the context of students, accessible Generative AI such as ChatGPT can assist in learning and understanding of lessons.
However, B.A.I.I. believes that it is already abuse when learners use GenAI to complete tasks for them. This can cause complacency and over-reliance on AI, which can lessen a student's ability to think critically. Furthermore, using GenAI to get away from writing an essay, for instance is a violation of academic integrity and can incur serious charges such as plagiarism.
