Taon-taon tuwing ika-10 ng Disyembre, ginugunita ang Araw ng Karapatang Pantao—ang mismong araw na pinagtibay ng United Nations General Assembly ang Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) noong 1948.

Ang tema ng pagdiriwang ngayong taon ay "Our rights, our future, right now."

Sa Quezon City pinapahalagahan at kinikilala ang karapatan ng bawat tao sa maayos na kalusugan, trabaho, edukasyon, at kalayaan sa pagpapahayag habang itinataguyod ang mabuting pamamahala.

Bilang pag-iingat sa pagbaha na dulot ng mga pag-ulan bunsod ng Bagyong , mayroong itinalagang evacuation sites sa mga piling lugar na bahain o may banta ng landslide para sa ligtas at mabilis na paglikas ng humigit-kumulang 266 na pamilya o 772 na indibidwal sa ating lungsod.
