The Asia TEFL Conference 2013 Organizers - Philippines

The 10th Asia TEFL Conference in 2012 will be in Delhi, India.Professor Hyo Woong Lee, founder and president of Asia TEFL, and Mr. Kim Young-I, financial director and CEO of Edu Ocean, a partner of Asia TEFL, visited the Ateneo on 13-14 October 2011 to meet with the organizers and to check possible venues for the conference. A highlight of their visit was a courtesy call to Fr. Jose Ramon Villarin, S.J., President of Ateneo de Manila University; Dr. John Paul Vergara, Vice President for the Loyola Schools; and Dr. Marlu Vilches, Dean of the School of Humanities. Accompanying the special guests were Dr. Isabel Martin, Asia TEFL Philippine representative and the executive directors of ACELT, Ms. Nanette Fernandez, and ALLC, Ms. April Fernandez. With almost 15,000 English language teaching professionals from all parts of the world as members, Asia TEFL, also known as the Asian Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language, publishes a Scopus-indexed journal which will soon become ISI-indexed (www.asiatefl.org). The 3-day conference in October 2013 is expected to draw about a thousand participants, as it will feature eminent scholars and English language teaching specialists as plenary and featured speakers.
