One of the Grounded exhibit’s invited contemporary artists, Alma Quinto, will be conducting the workshop Dis/Grasya: Transforming narratives of pain and struggle into power at the Lopez Museum and Library on 22 June 2013. She will be inviting NGO workers, volunteers, artists, students, and advocates to attend the workshop designed to empower participants and help them explore how traumatic experiences and daily struggles can be transformed into learning experiences.

Alma Quinto has also conducted numerous workshops and trainings for Sendong survivors (Iligan City and Cagayan De Oro City), incarcerated women drug couriers (Quezon City), young women survivors of abuse (Quezon City), residents of Bantay Bata Children’s Home (Bulacan), and women involved in conflicts (Australia). She received her BA in Philippine Studies from the University of the Philippines and a Certificate in Teaching from the Philippine Normal University.

The workshop is for free.
