✈️ MARINDUQUE AIRPORT

An airport waiting for its next chapter.

Tucked in Gasan, Marinduque, the Marinduque Airport has seen several chapters in the province’s aviation history.

Commercial flights once connected Marinduque with Manila, but regular service eventually stopped. The airport underwent major rehabilitation, including runway and terminal improvements, and commercial flights returned in 2019.

Yet today, the runway remains largely quiet when it comes to regular commercial passenger service.
And that raises an interesting question:

If Marinduque already has an airport, a concrete runway, and a rehabilitated terminal—why has regular commercial air service remained difficult to sustain? 🤔✈️

Is it the number of passengers?
The cost of operating flights?
The aircraft available?
Or does Marinduque simply need a stronger tourism and business demand to make the route viable?

And perhaps the biggest question:

If regular flights returned tomorrow, would YOU choose to fly to Marinduque instead of taking the ferry? ✈️🌴
