It also helps teachers reconnect with the experience of being a beginner, something students go through all the time.

It helps build a stronger sense of community in the classroom. Want your students to feel more connected? Teaching songs they can sing together naturally brings them closer. Studies even show that music strengthens areas of the brain linked to empathy, trust, and teamwork—skills everyone benefits from.

Music and singing can instantly lift moods. Think about how lively a group of kids becomes when singing something like “Wheels on the Bus.” That’s because music triggers dopamine and endorphins, which help regulate mood and create a sense of happiness and connection.
