The Australian Government has announced a 12-month suspension on new CRICOS registrations for private vocational (VET) and English language (ELICOS) providers, effective from 19 May 2026 to 19 May 2027.

What does this mean for international students?
✅ Existing CRICOS-registered providers can continue to enroll international students, add new campuses, and update courses when qualifications are superseded.
❌ No new private VET and ELICOS providers or courses can apply for registration during the suspension period.

This measure aims to strengthen the integrity and quality of Australia's international education sector.

You must meet the Genuine Student (GS) requirement. This means that your financial and economic circumstances can support your study in Australia for the entire duration of your stay.

Your application must include evidence of:
