QCPD Nabs Suspects for Illegal Possession of Fi****ms in Separate Operations
QUEZON CITY, February 26, 2025—PCOL Melecio M Buslig, Jr, ADD, QCPD, announced the arrest of two suspects for Illegal Possession of Fi****ms in separate operations conducted by Batasan Police Station (PS 6) and Galas Police Station (PS 11), in Quezon City.
In its first operation, the PS 6 under PLTCOL Romil C Avenido arrested Dominic Macandog, 31 years old, and a resident of Brgy. Commonwealth, Quezon City.
According to the report, at 1:50 AM on February 25, 2025, the victim was walking home when a male suspect suddenly appeared and forcibly took his cellphone. Then and there, the victim immediately reported the incident to PS 6, prompting the operatives to conduct a follow-up operation. Upon reaching IBP Road, Pook Pag-asa, Brgy. Batasan Hills, Quezon City, the victim spotted the same individual who had stolen his belongings walking along the roadside. Acting promptly, the operatives apprehended the suspect on the spot.
Recovered from the suspect were one (1) Huawei Nova 3i mobile phone; a sling bag; one (1) .30 caliber revolver and four (4) live ammunition.
On the other hand, the PS 11 under PLTCOL Joseph DM Dela Cruz arrested Ernesto Mesa Mata, 25 years old, and a resident of Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City.
Report shows that at 11:20 PM on February 25, 2025, along BMA corner Cardiz St., Brgy. Tatalon, Quezon City, Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO) of Brgy. Tatalon was patrolling within their Area of Responsibility (AOR) when they spotted a man causing a disturbance with an improvised handgun tucked in his waist. At that juncture, the BPSOs immediately sought assistance from nearby PS 11 patrolling officers, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Further, through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system, it was revealed that the suspect had a previous case of Theft in September 2023.
Seized from him was an improvised handgun (pen gun) loaded with one (1) piece 9 mm live ammunition.
Both suspects will be charged for violating R.A. 10591, also known as Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act and B.P. 881or Omnibus Election Code in relation to COMELEC Resolution No. 11067. In addition, Mata will be charged for Alarms and Scandals, while Macandog will be charged for Robbery (Hold-up).
