The day-long event brought together faculty, staff, and students to learn how to plan and run community projects. The training was led by a team of UESO speakers, including Director Liezl F. Tangonan Ph.D. and staff members Jovelyn May Godino, Remelyn Pelicano, and James Rodolfo Abalus, who all shared clear steps on how to design, submit, carry out, and manage meaningful extension work based on their fields of expertise.

The morning session focused on a detailed orientation where the UESO team explained the basics of extension work. The speakers discussed what extension is, why it matters, how to start a project, the required paperwork, and the steps needed to keep projects running successfully until they can be properly evaluated. In the afternoon, the training shifted into an active workshop where the faculty members presented their own extension proposals. The UESO Director and staff thoroughly reviewed and critiqued each proposal, giving valuable recommendations and feedback on how to improve the projects as a whole.

This entire full-day training is highly important because starting community projects is a key duty of the university. These initiatives not only help the university grow, but they also bring real, lasting help to local communities and beneficiaries.

Held at the Research Development and Extension Building (2nd Floor, Room 2), the session brought together Extension Operations Manual Technical Working Group (TWG), led by the Extension Services Office Director, Dr. Liezl F. Tangonan, acting as the TWG Head, with comprehensive administrative support from the UESO Secretariat.

The primary agenda centered on the formal presentation of the consolidated revised draft of the extension's operations manual. Recognizing that the old framework requires a strategic upgrade to dynamically support the continuous, real-world needs of PSU extensionists, the group meticulously scrutinized the document. They focused on refining policy alignments, improving operational flows, and proactively identifying and resolving any conflicting inputs within the text before it reaches external eyes.
By streamlining these protocols and institutionalizing best practices, the updated manual will empower PSU extensionists to execute impactful, frictionless projects moving forward. Ultimately, this ensures that the diverse partner communities and beneficiaries across the province receive more efficient, targeted, and sustainable grassroots support.

Through this ongoing rigorous review, University Extension Services Office reaffirms its commitment to excellence, ensuring our extension programs remain responsive, relevant, and deeply transformative.
