🛡️ BEHIND THE SCENES: How Our Active Threat Emergency Plan Works to Keep Your Children Safe

Dear Parents and Guardians,

When it comes to the safety of our learners, every second counts. In line with DepEd’s commitment to child protection and disaster preparedness, we want to walk you through what actually happens behind the scenes if an active threat ever arises on our campus.

Here is the step-by-step narrative of our Contingency Action Plan in motion:

🚨 1. Immediate Alert & Immediate Lockdown
The second a security threat is detected near or inside school grounds, our gate guardians lock down the main entrances and sound our emergency alarm. Teachers immediately guide students into the nearest classrooms, lock and barricade doors, close the blinds, and keep everyone low and out of sight.

📞 2. Direct Hotlines & Emergency Response
As the lockdown holds, our DRRM team instantly connects directly to the Philippine National Police (PNP), local medical responders, and the DepEd Division Office to coordinate swift on-site assistance.

🏃 3. Guided Evacuation
If remaining inside is unsafe, or once law enforcement secures an exit route, trained school marshals lead students out via pre-mapped safe paths to a secure off-campus assembly area.

📋 4. Strict Student-Parent Reunification
At the safe zone, class advisers conduct immediate roll calls to ensure every single child is accounted for. To guarantee safety, students are only released to parents or authorized guardians with valid IDs.

💙 5. Psychological First Aid & Care
Safety doesn't end when the threat is cleared. Working with DepEd guidance counselors and health personnel, we provide psychological first aid and emotional support to ensure our learners process trauma safely before resuming classes.

🤝 How You Can Help Us Stay Prepared:

Keep your emergency contact details up to date with your child's adviser.

Remind your child to wear their School ID daily and listen carefully during our regular emergency drills.

Together, we keep our school a secure haven for learning! 💙

⚡ MASTERING COC 4: CENTRALIZED BACKUP & RECOVERY (SERVER TO CLIENT & CLIENT TO SERVER) 💻🖥️

Maintaining data integrity and ensuring system recovery are core pillars of COC 4: Maintain and Repair Computer Systems and Networks. A complete backup architecture works two ways—protecting the server environment while giving client users a automated safety net. Here is how to execute a full dual-backup strategy using Windows Server Backup and File History from start to finish.
1. Server-Side Protection: Backup & Remote Client Deployment

The narrative begins on Windows Server 2012 R2, where safeguarding critical system states and Active Directory databases is mandatory. Using Server Manager, open the Add Roles and Features wizard to install Windows Server Backup from the Features menu.

Once installed, launch the console (wbadmin.msc) to configure a scheduled or immediate backup task. Select whether to back up the Bare Metal Recovery, System State, or specific shared data volumes, then target a dedicated local storage drive or a secondary server partition.

To extend server-level protection down to your clients, use Server Manager and Group Policy Management to deploy and manage backup policies across joined workstations. Defining administrative storage shares (such as \\Server\ServerBackups$) ensures that server system images and critical client system states can be restored cleanly in the event of hardware failure or corruption.
2. Client-Side Protection: File History to Centralized Server Shares

With the server secured, switch focus to user-level data protection on the Windows 10 Client. While server backups handle operating system integrity, user documents and personal files require real-time revision tracking through File History.

First, return to the server to create a central backup destination—a shared folder named FileHistoryStore with full read/write network and NTFS permissions granted to domain users. Over on the Windows 10 Client, navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Backup (or search File History in Control Panel). Select Add a drive, but instead of picking a local disk, choose Network Location and enter the UNC path pointing to your server's shared folder (\\Server\FileHistoryStore).

Once selected, toggle File History ON. Windows 10 will immediately begin scanning user libraries (Documents, Desktop, Pictures) and streaming incremental file snapshots across the network into central server storage.
3. Validating Recovery & Data Integrity

A backup strategy is only as good as its restore process. To prove total competence for COC 4, test both restore pathways. On the server side, execute a test recovery through Windows Server Backup to verify that point-in-time system states remain valid. On the client side, delete a test document from the desktop, open File History, and perform a seamless Restore personal files operation to bring the lost document back from the server storage pool.

Demonstrating seamless dual-directional backup proves that your network is resilient, redundancy-ready, and capable of recovering from catastrophic system failures!

📌 Pro-Tip: Always verify network folder permissions before pointing File History to a UNC path, and ensure the Volume Shadow Copy service (VSS) is running on both ends! Keep building those pro-level maintenance skills, LANHS Techs! 💪🔥
