The Regional Dialogue on the Digital Era, held virtually on June 22, 2024, and August 24, 2024, was a significant event aimed at addressing the impact of digital technology on children and youth across Asia. This dialogue was a collaborative effort involving representatives from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Nepal, and it provided a crucial platform for discussing how the digital world affects young people.

The first session of the dialogue took place on June 22, 2024. Despite being held online, the event successfully brought together a diverse group of participants from various regions. Foundation for the Development of Agusanon Inc (FDAI) was honored to represent the Philippines, with Charmelle Mangadlao and Jhon Lee Alute from Azpetia National High School joining other young representatives. The session included:

- Ten children from Agusan Del Sur (FDAI)
- Ten children from the Visayas (KAPASKI)
- Selected children from Nepal and Indonesia

The session began with a keynote speech that highlighted the transformative effects of digital technology on education, communication, and daily life. This was followed by panel discussions that addressed critical issues such as digital inclusion, online safety, and the role of technology in education. Charmelle Mangadlao and Jhon Lee Alute shared their experiences from Agusan Del Sur, presenting local initiatives designed to improve digital literacy and access for children.

Interactive workshops were a key feature of the session, fostering collaboration and problem-solving among participants. These workshops allowed participants to exchange ideas and develop solutions to common challenges. The session concluded with discussions on future actions and regional cooperation, stressing the importance of working together to support children as they navigate the digital world.

The second session, held on August 24, 2024, continued the dialogue by focusing on General Comment 25 (GC 25) from UNICEF. This document addresses children’s rights in the digital age. The virtual meeting included:

- Children from Nepal and Indonesia
- Children from Agusan Del Sur and the Visayas

The session began with a warm welcome from Ovi Jannah and opening remarks by Mala Diwi. A UNICEF representative provided an in-depth explanation of GC 25, detailing its importance for protecting children’s rights online and ensuring their safety in the digital environment. Participants, including Charmelle Mangadlao and Jhon Lee Alute, engaged in a question-and-answer segment to discuss how to apply the principles of GC 25 in their own contexts. The session ended with a summary of key points and a call to action, emphasizing the need for ongoing collaboration to uphold children’s digital rights and address emerging challenges.

The Regional Dialogue on the Digital Era was not only a valuable opportunity for discussing digital literacy and children’s rights but also a precursor to future face-to-face interactions. Participants from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Nepal are scheduled to physically meet in February 2025 in Manila, Philippines. This upcoming meeting will further strengthen the collaboration and continue the important work initiated during the virtual sessions.

The insights and strategies developed during these sessions will guide future efforts to ensure that children can navigate the digital world safely and effectively. The dialogue has provided a foundation for continued cooperation and advocacy to support young people in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

"Embracing New Beginnings: As we welcome our Grade 7 students into the next chapter of their educational journey, Azpetia National High School's SSLG is proud to host an Inter-Agency Orientation on August 20, 2024.

This event is more than just a gathering; it's a collaborative initiative with the active participation of dedicated representatives from various agencies. From the MSWDO, we have Clarilin P. Santa, RSW, MPA, and Migra Arianne T. Reambonanza, RSW. Representing the PNP WCPD is PSSg Ruby F. Ngoho. Hon. Jayson N. Barola joins us from KKDAT, and from the RHO, we have Clark Edgar J. Ga, RMT, along with Jocelyn C. Branzuela, RN.

Together, we are laying the foundation for a nurturing environment where our students can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
This orientation is more than a mere introduction; it's an essential guide for both students and parents as they navigate the exciting yet challenging waters of high school life. By providing valuable insights and robust support systems, we are ensuring that every student has the tools they need to succeed.

Azpetia National High School Promotes Holistic Development through Moral Recovery Program

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, Azpetia National High School conducted a Moral Recovery Program as part of its commitment to promoting holistic development among its students. The program specifically targeted 40 selected participants from various sections, particularly those involved in substance addiction. In addition, the event saw active participation from student leaders, including officers from the Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG), Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), and Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), who served as prime movers for the welfare of the student body.

The Moral Recovery Program aimed to foster ethical behavior, strengthen values, and promote social responsibility, self-reflection, and personal growth among the participants. The program has been instrumental in promoting ethical values and improving moral awareness, with participants demonstrating a greater understanding of moral values by the end of the event.

This important event was made possible through the collaboration and support of several key offices, including the Provincial Social and Welfare Development Office, led by Razel O. Montemor; the SURE Program, under the leadership of Ma'am Margieluna C. Juanite; and the Moral Recovery and Values Formation Services, directed by Ma'am Rona Joy Madridano.

Overall, the Moral Recovery Program effectively achieved its goal of enhancing ethical behavior and personal values among the participants, contributing to their holistic development.

On July 23, 2024; Mr. Patrick P. Tolentino and Ms. Samantha Nicole Pontillo, representing Children Sector, attended the "Trabaho Para sa Bayan Regional Consultation" at Almont Inland Resorts, Butuan City. The event commenced with a full day of activities aimed at discussing labor market trends, future work scenarios, and regional economic profiles. The event was structured to include presentations, workshops, and collaborative sessions designed to foster a forward-looking perspective on employment and economic development in the region.

The session began with the welcome and opening remarks, setting a collaborative tone for the day. Acknowledgement of participants was made, and key figures from the NEDA Regional Office and Trabaho Para sa Bayan (TPB) Secretariat introduced themselves, outlining the day’s agenda and objectives.

The morning session discussed the following:
❤️Salient Features of the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act:The TPB Secretariat provided an in-depth look at the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act, highlighting its key provisions and objectives.

❤️The Future of Work:This segment, also led by the TPB Secretariat, explored emerging trends and forecasts for the future job market.

❤️GenZ in the Labor Force: A presentation by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) focused on the integration of Generation Z into the workforce and their unique characteristics.

Right after the presentations of significant topics, the TPB Secretariat led a workshop focused on envisioning future work scenarios. Participants engaged in design thinking exercises to brainstorm and identify potential future trends and challenges in the labor market.

In the afternoon session, the event yield on Regional Profile which deals about:
❤️Popular Projections: The CDP presented on popular projections affecting the regional economy.

❤️Regional Labor Statistics: The DOLE provided a detailed overview of current labor statistics and trends.

❤️Industry and Business Profile in the Region: The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) discussed the regional industry landscape and business profiles, highlighting key sectors and growth areas.

Right after some inputs, the event proceed on a workshop "Design Thinking Workshop - Clearing Roadblocks and Setting Directions". This was facilitated by the TPB Secretariat were participants identified obstacles and developed strategies to address them, setting clear directions for future actions.

At 3:15 pm, the TPB Secretariat led a workshop aimed at discovering the region’s potential contributions to the future of work and how to align local resources and strengths with broader employment trends. Next was the presentations of the participant's findings and ideas taken from the workshop. The TPB Secretariat facilitated a processing session, synthesizing the input and discussing actionable insights.

The day concluded with closing remarks from the TPB Secretariat, summarizing key takeaways and next steps. Participants were appreciated for their engagement and contributions.

The Trabaho Para sa Bayan Regional Consultation successfully achieved its goals of exploring the future of work, discussing regional economic profiles, and engaging stakeholders in design thinking exercises. The event fostered collaborative dialogue and generated valuable insights for shaping labor market strategies and regional development.
