𝐖𝐕𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐂'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The University Research and Development Center (URDC) of West Visayas State University (WVSU) successfully wrapped up its series of Research Monitoring and Dissemination activities across its satellite campuses with the final leg held at WVSU Pototan Campus on May 11, 2026.

The URDC team, led by Director Dr. Ryan Michael F. Oducado, was warmly received by Campus Administrator Dr. Raymund B. Gemora, together with Dr. Raquel P. Pedrajas, Head of Research, Innovation, and Extension (RIE), and the faculty researchers of the campus.

The program opened with a welcome message from Campus Administrator Dr. Raymund B. Gemora, followed by the presentation of the WVSU Research Agenda 2026–2030 by URDC Director Dr. Ryan Michael F. Oducado. Key updates were also shared by the URDC Staff during the morning session, including:

New Policies by Judy M. Failagutan

The afternoon session focused on the monitoring of ongoing research projects, where faculty researchers presented their studies for evaluation and constructive feedback.

Serving as evaluators were RIE Heads Dr. Ma. Gerlia A. Blanza of WVSU Lambunao Campus and Dr. Alma Jean D. Subong of WVSU Janiuay Campus. Both provided insightful recommendations to strengthen the quality, relevance, and impact of the research outputs. Their feedback emphasized the importance of aligning research with community development goals and enhancing dissemination strategies to maximize reach and utility.

The successful culmination of the URDC’s activities highlights WVSU’s strong commitment to research excellence, innovation, and community engagement, ensuring that faculty-driven initiatives contribute meaningfully to academic advancement and regional development.

𝐖𝐕𝐒𝐔 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

West Visayas State University (WVSU), through its Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO), proudly joins the nationwide celebration of National Intellectual Property Month 2026 this April. This year’s observance is anchored by the theme “𝙄𝙋 𝙞𝙣 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨: 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮, 𝙎𝙚𝙩, 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚,” which highlights the role of intellectual property in advancing creativity, innovation, and enterprise while spotlighting the inspiring stories of athletes, innovators, creators, and entrepreneurs.

As part of the celebration, WVSU will roll out the 𝙄𝙋 𝙄𝙜𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙣 and 𝙄𝙋 𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙘 across its campuses to strengthen intellectual property awareness among students, faculty, researchers, and innovators. The IP Ignite Caravan will be held at 9:00 AM, followed by the IP Clinic at 1:00 PM, providing an avenue for consultation and guidance on intellectual property concerns, filing pathways, and the protection of research, creative works, and innovations.

Through these activities, WVSU reaffirms its commitment to building a stronger culture of innovation and intellectual property protection within the university community. By bringing IP awareness and consultation services closer to the campuses, the University hopes to encourage more members of its academic community to recognize the value of their ideas and transform them into protected and impactful outputs.

WVSU invites faculty, students, researchers, and innovators across all campuses to take part in the celebration and join the activities prepared for this year’s National Intellectual Property Month 2026.
