Young Journalists Shine at School-Based Press Conference

ANTIPOLO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL — Aspiring journalists of Antipolo National High School brought their bright and colorful imaginations to life through their pens as they participated in the School-Based Press Conference held after class hours on August 14, 2026.

The competition gathered student journalists who showcased their skills, creativity, and passion for campus journalism. Participants took on various journalistic challenges, putting their writing, critical thinking, and information-gathering skills to the test.

The event was initiated and facilitated by Ma’am Zeña E. Quitco and Ma’am Peache Nadenne L. Bayasca, with the support of ANHS Teacher-In-Charge Ma’am Jennifer E. Llanes and the English and Filipino teachers from different grade levels. Their guidance and support helped provide student journalists with an opportunity to strengthen their journalistic skills, confidence, and commitment to responsible journalism.

More than just a competition, the press conference served as a platform for students to express their ideas and develop their talents. Through every article, headline, photograph, and story, the young journalists demonstrated the importance of creativity, accuracy, and responsible journalism.

Three days later, on August 17, 2026, the school held the awarding ceremony to recognize the students who emerged as winners in the different categories. The ceremony celebrated their hard work and dedication while acknowledging their potential to represent the school at the next level.

The winners will advance to the Division Schools Press Conference, where they will compete against other student journalists and proudly represent Antipolo National High School.

As the young journalists prepare for the next stage, their journey continues beyond medals and certificates. With their pens as their voices and their stories as their platform, they carry not only their skills but also the pride of their school into the Division Schools Press Conference.

JUST IN: ANHS Holds Urgent General Parents and Teachers Association Assembly

ANTIPOLO, July 21, 2026 — Antipolo National High School conducted its urgent General Parents and Teachers Association (GPTA) Assembly on Tuesday at the Antipolo Gymnasium, bringing together parents, teachers, and school officials to discuss school developments, student welfare, and community participation.

The assembly formally opened with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by a prayer. GPTA President Mrs. Myla G. Asong then delivered her welcome message, expressing gratitude to the parents for their continued support and encouraging stronger collaboration between families and the school.

During the updates, Vivian A. Geocadin presented the outcomes of the Joint Committee Meeting held on July 20, 2026, at the Pontevedra Sangguniang Bayan Office. The report included updates on the construction of school facilities, and the delivery of classroom chairs. The GPTA Treasurer also reported on the association's financial status and collection updates.

The program also featured a discussion on Guidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment, presented by Ma'am Jaira Almira De Paula, Guidance Designate. The session emphasized the shared responsibility of parents, teachers, and students in maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive school environment.

An open forum followed, giving parents the opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, and provide suggestions directly to school officials and GPTA officers. The concerns were addressed through discussions aimed at improving school programs and strengthening home-school partnerships.

The assembly concluded with closing remarks delivered by Mrs. Luvila Perolino, GPTA Vice President, who thanked the attendees for their active participation and reaffirmed the commitment of both the school and parents to work together in providing quality education and a safe learning environment for all ANHS students.

Kit Martin A. De Paula (CMMS, OIC-Director of the University Community Development Office) led the turnover alongside Alvin T. Ramoran (RSW, OIC-Director, UCDO), Crystalyn Gonzaga (UCDO staff), and Patricia Louren T. Lobaton (Marketing Officer).

JUST IN | Antipolo National High School Conducts Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

In an effort to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote safety awareness, Antipolo National High School successfully conducted a simultaneous earthquake drill today. Students, teachers, and school personnel actively participated in the activity to practice proper response procedures during an earthquake.

The activity was led by the DRRM Focal Persons, Sir Janus D. Dumaran and Sir Jireh John S. Baclagon, with the assistance of Eagle Scouts Carlos A. Llanes, Klyde M. Encila, and Ezrah Dave G. Lumanglas, along with the Antipolo NHS Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, in facilitating the smooth and orderly implementation of the drill.

The drill emphasized the importance of the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique, a scientifically recommended safety measure that helps reduce the risk of injuries caused by falling objects and structural debris during seismic events.

Participants also practiced orderly evacuation and assembly procedures to ensure a quick and safe response in the event of a real earthquake.
Earthquakes occur due to the sudden movement of tectonic plates beneath the Earth's surface. Because they often happen without warning, disaster experts stress that regular drills are essential for improving preparedness and minimizing potential risks.

Through this activity, Antipolo National High School continues to promote a culture of safety, resilience, and scientific awareness among its5tg learners and staff, ensuring that the school community remains ready for unexpected natural phenomena.

General PTA Meeting ng Antipolo National High School

Matagumpay na naisagawa ang General PTA Meeting ng Antipolo National High School sa pamumuno ni Gng. Jennifer E. Llanes g**ong namamahala.

‎It’s hard to let go but I have to.
‎
‎I didn’t expect this to hurt this much. I thought I would be ready, that I could just write a simple goodbye and walk away. But how do you say goodbye to something that became your voice, your comfort, your escape?
‎
‎The ANHS ECHO was never just a publication to me. It was where I poured every doubt, every fear, every piece of myself I didn’t know how to express anywhere else. It was where I learned to be strong even when I felt like breaking, to lead even when I was lost, to speak even when my voice was shaking.
‎
‎There were nights I cried in silence, questioning if I was enough. There were days I carried the weight of everyone, trying to be the leader they needed while quietly falling apart. But still I stayed. Because this meant everything to me.
‎
‎To my team… you were never just staff. You were the reason I kept going. Thank you for trusting me even when I struggled to trust myself. Thank you for staying, for trying, for believing. Every story we wrote, every page we finished it carried pieces of our hearts.
‎
‎To our advisers, Ma'am Peache Nadenne Bayasca and Ma'am Zeña Quitco, and to our mentors, thank you for seeing something in me that I couldn’t see in myself. Thank you for your patience, your guidance, and for holding me together in ways you may not even realize.
‎
‎To the next Editor-in-Chief.
‎
‎This role will break you before it builds you. There will be moments you’ll feel alone, moments you’ll want to give up but don’t. Stay. Fight for your team. Fight for the truth. Lead not because you have the title, but because you have the heart to carry it. This publication will change you, just like it changed me so take care of it, and let it take care of you too.
‎
‎To the new writers, I know you’re scared. I was too. You’ll doubt your words, compare yourself, feel like you’re not good enough but please don’t stop. Write anyway. Write through the fear, through the uncertainty, through everything. Because one day, you’ll realize your voice matters more than your doubts ever did.
‎
‎And now here I am, writing the last piece I’ll ever write as Editor-in-Chief.
‎
‎I’m not ready. I don’t think I ever will be.
‎
‎But it’s time.
‎
‎So this is me, letting go of the title even if I’m still holding on to everything it gave me.
‎
‎Thank you The ANHS ECHO for choosing me, because I will always choose you.
‎
‎This is Lymar B. Trinidad, Editor-in-chief and News writer of The ANHS ECHO, signing off.
