OMSC BSDC 1st Year Students Lead Successful Community Immersion at Curanta Elementary School, San Agustin, SJOM

The Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BSDC) 1A and 1B students of Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) conducted their NSTP CWTS II - Community Immersion at Curanta Elementary School on March 27, 2026.

The activity was led by Ms. Rogine G. Raro, LPT NSTP-CWTS Instructor. The program aimed to help students engage with the community and practice service and social responsibility. The theme of the activity was “Build a Bright Energy that Shines: An Adventure of Unity,” which highlighted recreation activities.

During the immersion, the students also gave school supplies to learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6 to support their studies. A feeding program was also held to provide food for the children and help meet their basic needs.

The students also conducted a storytelling session that entertained the children while sharing simple lessons. Other fun activities were prepared to make the program enjoyable for the learners.

In addition, sports equipment was donated to the school to support physical education activities and encourage students to participate in sports.

The activity was well received by the school community and was considered a successful experience for the BSDC students. It showed the importance of unity, teamwork, and helping others in the community.

KSA Improvement in Preparation for Higher Education | Community Immersion

The students of BSBA FM 1H successfully conducted their community immersion entitled “KSA Improvement in Preparation for Higher Education.” This initiative aimed to enhance the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) of the participants as they prepare for their journey toward higher education.

The activity was made possible through the guidance and mentorship of Instructor Wilbert Satiel J. Salva, who supported the students in planning and implementing a meaningful and impactful program for the community.

The organizers also extend their sincere gratitude to NSTP Coordinator Carl Flint P. Patacsil and NSTP Director Ronald Francis C. Sanqui for their continuous support, encouragement, and commitment to programs that promote student leadership and community engagement.

Special appreciation is also given to SK Chairperson Reynante G. Opague Jr. for the valuable support and partnership that contributed to the success of this youth-centered initiative.
