Assumption Academy of Monkayo, Inc. convened its General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA) Assembly and Homeroom Meeting on September 20, 2026, gathering parents, teachers, administrators, and members of the school community for an afternoon of deliberation, and collective discussions.
The assembly featured intermission performances from both students and faculty members, adding a vibrant touch to the gathering. 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗣. 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗗𝗠, 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, delivered the welcome remarks, setting the tone for an assembly centered on cooperation and shared responsibility.
A substantial portion of the gathering was devoted to the presentation and discussion of proposed school implementations. Parents and teachers were given the opportunity to scrutinize the measures, articulate their perspectives, raise concerns, and deliberate on their potential implications for the student body. Through an open exchange of views and subsequent voting, members actively participated in shaping decisions that concern the wider AAM community.
The assembly also featured the oath of office of the newly-elected GPTA officers, who formally pledged their commitment to fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. Through the ceremony, the new officers were entrusted with the task of representing the association and serving as partners in advancing the shared interests of the AAM community.
More than a routine organizational gathering, the 2026 GPTA General Assembly underscored the role of collaboration in school governance.

FROM DATA TO ACTION: DESIGNING TARGETED INTERVENTIONS

The Assumption Academy of Monkayo, Inc. actively participated in the “From Data to Action: Designing Targeted Interventions” held on September 12, 2026, at Acacia Hotel, Davao.

Representing AAMI were Ma’am Viness Pearl Kristina R. Acosto, LPT, Academic Coordinator, and Ma’am Juvy Ann Galacgac, RpM, Guidance Associate, who took part in the event to gain valuable insights and strategies in using data to design meaningful and targeted interventions for learners.

AAMI continues to support professional development and initiatives that help us better understand and respond to the needs of our students.

SCHOOL-BASED IN-SERVICE TRAINING (INSET) 2026

CANVAS OF THE FUTURE: Elevating Educational Content through Canva and Mentimeter

On September 11, 2026, the Assumption Academy of Monkayo, Inc. conducted its School-Based In-Service Training (INSET) with the theme, “CANVAS OF THE FUTURE: Elevating Educational Content through Canva and Mentimeter.”

The training was spearheaded by the AAMI's Information Technology Team as part of its continuing efforts to enhance the digital competencies of its teaching personnel and strengthen the integration of technology in teaching and learning.

The professional development activity focused on three key areas. Vince Jay V. De Castro, LPT, IT Coordinator, discussed “The Visual Educator: Basic Graphic Design & Canva Presentation Editing,” highlighting fundamental principles of graphic design and the effective use of Canva in developing instructional presentations. Riz Ivan Palmero, LPT, Quipper Coordinator, presented “AI-Powered Teaching: Streamlining Lesson Creation with Canva AI,” focusing on the use of artificial intelligence to support and streamline lesson preparation and content development. Meanwhile, Tom Raven Anuta, LPT, Assistant IT Coordinator, discussed “Beyond Static Slides: Driving Real-Time Student Engagement with Mentimeter,” emphasizing the use of interactive digital tools to promote active learner participation and engagement.

The sessions provided the teaching personnel with relevant knowledge and practical strategies for utilizing digital platforms to develop effective instructional materials, enhance lesson preparation, and create more interactive learning experiences.

The AAMI expresses its sincere appreciation to the Information Technology Team and its resource speakers for their initiative, expertise, and commitment to advancing professional development among the faculty.

Through relevant and purposeful professional learning, Assumption Academy of Monkayo, Inc. continues to uphold its commitment to educational excellence and to equipping its educators with the competencies necessary to respond effectively to the evolving landscape of 21st-century teaching and learning.

SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL | SEPTEMBER 10, 2026

On September 10, 2026, the teachers of the Assumption Academy of Monkayo, Inc. participated in a simultaneous earthquake drill as part of the institution’s continuing commitment to disaster preparedness, safety, and risk reduction.

The activity aimed to strengthen the faculty’s awareness, readiness, and capacity to respond appropriately and effectively in the event of an earthquake. Through regular drills and preparedness initiatives, the Academy continues to foster a culture of safety and resilience among its members.

The Davao De Oro Scouts proudly represented the institution at the 7th One Mindanao Scout Jamboree, held on September 3–6, 2026, at BSP Camp Obedencia, Pendulonan, Lala, Lanao del Norte.

The delegation achieved the following distinctions:
