A Bright Beginning: Kicking Off Our ARAL Summer Program Journey
The ARAL Program stands for Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning Program, an initiative designed by the Department of Education (DepEd) to strengthen learners’ academic skills, particularly in literacy and numeracy, by providing targeted instructional support and learning activities that help improve understanding and mastery of grade-level competencies, making learning more accessible and responsive to students’ needs.
Our ARAL Summer Program orientation introduced the goals, structure, and importance of the program, helping learners understand how it will support their academic growth.
The Aral Summer Program includes Aral Reading and Aral Mathematics. Aral Reading focuses on improving comprehension, vocabulary, and overall reading skills, while Aral Mathematics helps learners strengthen their skills in numbers, operations, problem-solving, and logical thinking. Both are designed to support and enhance students’ foundational academic abilities during the summer.
On the first day, students actively engaged in fun and meaningful activities that allowed us to assess their current skills and learning needs. It was a day filled with excitement, participation, and a shared commitment to improvement.
With ARAL as our guide, we move forward with one mission—to empower every learner through quality education and continuous support. Together, we build a stronger foundation for success!

A journey that made them strong
This batch 2025-2026 has a school story we will never forget.
During their early years in school, they experienced modular learning because of pandemic (COVID 19).
In Grade 1 and Grade 2, instead of classrooms filled with laughter and guidance, they had modules to answer at home.
At that time, they were still learning how to read simple words and write basic sentences. It was confusing and sometimes frustrating.
They were in Grade 3 when face-to-face classes were back.
Many of them were just starting to fully understand reading and writing. They had to catch up while also learning new lessons. It wasn’t easy—but they and their grade three teachers didn't give up.
Because of this, they grew stronger than most. They became hardworking, patient, and brave learners. Their graduation is not just an achievement—it is a victory over challenges they faced at such a young age.
Congratulations, MCES graduates!
Your journey will carry you far in life.

Pupils Learn Fire Safety at BFP Malalag Open House
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Malalag held an Open House on March 11, 2026 at the Malalag Fire Station in celebration of Fire Prevention Month.
Selected Grade Three and Grade Five pupils from our school were invited to visit the station and learn about fire prevention and safety.
The firefighters welcomed the pupils and showed them the fire trucks, equipment, and tools used during emergencies. They also shared important fire safety tips that pupils can practice at home and in school.
The pupils enjoyed the activity and learned many new things about the role of firefighters and the importance of preventing fires.
We would like to thank BFP-Malalag for giving our pupils this wonderful learning experience and for their continued service to the community. 🚒
