ANNOUNCEMENT | SPSTE QUALIFIERS

The results are out! We are proud to present the official list of qualifiers for the Special Program in Science, Technology, and Engineering (SPSTE) for the upcoming school year. Congratulations to all successful applicants!

All qualified learners are required to confirm their slot to secure enrollment in the program.

Confirmation Schedule:
Date: April 8–10, 2026
Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Venue: BNHS Science Laboratory Room (Look for Mr. Julius Y B. Casco)
Please proceed to the venue and sign the official confirmation form within the given schedule.

Failure to confirm within the specified period will result in the forfeiture of your slot, which will be offered to applicants on the waiting list.

Attention STE Applicants!

All applicants to the Special Program in Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) are invited to attend the interview for screening and selection at SPSTE Building. To ensure an organized process, priority numbers will be distributed from 7:30 AM to 12:00 NN only, strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants are highly encouraged to arrive early to secure their slot, as only those who receive a priority number within the given time will be accommodated for the interview.

Bring your enthusiasm, curiosity, and passion for science and innovation as you take your first step toward becoming part of the STE community. See you there, future scientists and engineers!

Three Buena Highers have qualified for the 2025 National Science and Technology Fair (NSTF) in an outstanding display of scientific excellence.

Johnrey Bañaria (Grade 10 - STE Athena), Princess Angela Malay (Grade 10 - STE Athena), and Rei Ann Galanza (Grade 12 –STEM Einstein) have secured their spot in the 2025 NSTF Physical Science Team Category.

Their groundbreaking research and dedication have propelled them to the national level, bringing pride and honor to Buenavista National High School.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for the team and showcases their passion for innovation and scientific inquiry. Their journey continues as they prepare to compete against the best young minds in the country.

The NSTF is set to happen on March 10-14, 2025 at National Capital Region.

Buenavista National High School (BNHS) students representing the Schools Division of Guimaras brought pride and glory not just to the school but to the whole province, as they achieved remarkable success during the 2024 Regional SciMathlympics at Guimbal National High School, Iloilo.

Competing against the best minds from across the region, the young achievers clinched multiple awards in various categories which gave them the edge to emerge as the Overall Champion.

In Life Science competition (LS), Aruha Athena NZ Gaitano (Individual) and Giane Nicole Engallado, Athena Christylle Emit, and Fionalyn Sayat (Team category) bagged the Gold respectively.

In Physical Science (PS), BNHS also saw a strong showing. Johnrey Bañaria, Princess Angela Malay, and Rei Ann Galanza demonstrated their collaborative and scientific skills earning the Champion title, while the school’s representative Francine Lyshem Caboylo (Individual category) achieved a commendable Third place finish.

Meanwhile, in the field of Mathematics and Computational Sciences (MCS), BNHS continued to excel as Kurt Raven Anacita placed Third in the Individual category.

Adding to their impressive list of achievements, the students also shone in the Poster-Slogan Contest as they got the Third spot with their creative and thought-provoking entry.

The victories at the Regional SciMathlympics are testaments to the dedication of the students, the guidance of their mentors Sharon Evangelista (LS-I), Caren Rose Emit and Ma. Theresa Sayat (LS-T), Hicemy Palomares and Angie Rose Flora (PS-I), Julius Y Casco and Myshiel Montille (PS-T), Victor Michael Bolaño(MCS-1), and the unwavering support of the school administration.
