A meaningful and productive first day of the Training-Workshop on Research Ethics Review for Academic Institutions, together with our Research Ethics Review Committee Chairperson, Dr. Elaine May F. Mangca, and her dedicated team.

Today’s sessions strengthened our understanding of ethical principles, responsible research practices, and the important role of Research Ethics Committees in protecting the dignity, rights, safety, and welfare of research participants.

We are grateful for this opportunity to learn, collaborate, and further strengthen the culture of ethical and responsible research in our institution.

✨ A Successful Day of Learning, Collaboration, and Research! ✨

The Research Management Office of St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. successfully conducted the Research Capability Training for Teachers on September 18, 2026, at the 5th Floor Conference Hall.

With the theme “From Adviser to Panelist: Strengthening Teachers’ Competence in Research Mentoring, Evaluation, and Scholarly Guidance,” the seminar-workshop provided our faculty with meaningful insights, practical strategies, and strengthened competencies necessary for guiding and evaluating quality research.

Our heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished resource speaker, Dr. Ronalyn T. Langam, Graduate School Faculty of the University of Northwestern Mindanao (UNM), for generously sharing her expertise and valuable experiences with our participants.

📚✨ DAY 1 | BASIC TRAINING IN RESEARCH ETHICS

Day 1 of the Basic Training in Research Ethics, facilitated by DOST–Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB), officially begins!

The training brings together participants from St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. (SMCII) and participating institutions, including UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN MINDANAO and Christ the King College of Gingoog, in strengthening knowledge and practices on ethical research and the protection of research participants.

Leading the SMCII delegation is Ms. Elaine May F. Mangca, DM, Chairperson of the Research Ethics Review Committee (RERC).

This training marks another important step toward strengthening our institution’s commitment to responsible, ethical, and quality research practices.

St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc., through the Research Management Office, invites our teachers to participate in the Research Capability Training for Teachers on September 18–19, 2026, at the 5th Floor Conference Hall.

With the theme:

“From Adviser to Panelist: Strengthening Teachers’ Competence in Research Mentoring, Evaluation, and Scholarly Guidance”

This two-day training aims to further strengthen teachers’ knowledge, skills, and confidence in providing research guidance, mentoring student researchers, evaluating research outputs, and serving effectively as research advisers and panelists.

The St. Michael’s College of Iligan, Inc. – Research Management Office participates in the Training Workshop on Statistics in Research Methodology, organized by the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (PAIR), held on August 20–22, 2026, at Castle Peak Hotel, Cebu City.

With the theme “Analyze. Interpret. Impact.”, the training enhances participants’ knowledge and practical skills in statistical analysis and the use of JASP for quality and evidence-based research.
