On the afternoon of MondayโMarch 16, 2026, a Fire Prevention presentation led by Bureau of Fire Protection(BFP)-Pilar was held at Lundag Integrated School.
The activity was organized to teach students and teachers about the importance of fire safety and how to prevent fires.
The program started with an opening prayer led by Mrs. Merasol T. Campaner to ask for guidance and safety during the activity.
The guest speakers were from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Pilar, Bohol, Philippines. The speakers were Fire Officer 1 Janeth Lusica and Fire Officer 1 Paul Vincent Gutierrez. They shared helpful and easy-to-understand information about fire safety.
During the presentation, the firefighters taught the students about the elements of fire, which are heat, fuel, and oxygen. They explained that when these three elements come together, fire can start.
They also discussed the three ways fire spreads, which are conduction, convection, and radiation. The officers explained that fire can spread through direct contact (conduction), through moving air or smoke (convection), and through heat traveling in waves (radiation).
The firefighters also taught the students about the four methods of putting out a fire. They showed how fire can be stopped by cooling the fire, removing the fuel, cutting off the oxygen, or stopping the chain reaction.
To make the lesson more exciting and clear, the firefighters also gave a demonstration on how to extinguish fire using fire safety equipment. The students carefully watched as the officers showed the proper and safe way to put out a fire.
The activity followed the theme โHangad Nating Lahat, Pamayanang Handa, Aktibo at Handa.โ This theme reminds everyone to work together to make the community prepared, active, and ready in case of fire.
Through this activity, the students of Lundag Integrated School learned many important lessons about fire prevention and safety. The presentation helped them understand that being careful and prepared can help prevent fires and keep everyone safe.
