Dodan Elementary School Joins Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill to Strengthen Disaster Preparedness
Dodan, Peñablanca, Cagayan | June 18, 2026 – Demonstrating its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its learners and personnel, Dodan Elementary School actively participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) conducted at exactly 9:00 a.m. on June 18, 2026.
The nationwide activity forms part of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Program, which aims to enhance the preparedness and response capabilities of learners, teachers, school personnel, and stakeholders during earthquake emergencies and other disaster situations.
At the sound of the emergency signal, learners, teaching personnel, and non-teaching staff immediately performed the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure. Following the simulated earthquake scenario, participants proceeded calmly and orderly to their designated evacuation areas under the guidance of the school's DRRM Team. The activity highlighted the school's preparedness, coordination, and strict adherence to established safety protocols.
The successful implementation of the earthquake drill reflects the collective effort of the entire Dodan Elementary School community in promoting a culture of safety, resilience, and disaster preparedness. Through regular participation in emergency drills and preparedness activities, the school continues to equip its learners and personnel with the necessary knowledge, skills, and awareness to respond effectively during emergencies.
