Year after year, Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains to be one of the leading causes of noncommunicable deaths in the Philippines. Although CVD continues to pose a significant burden on many Filipinos, there are still ways to prevent this.

In light of the upcoming Philippine Heart Month, the Public Health Council presents the online webinar and focus group discussion “PagtitiPHon: A Heart to Heart Talk”, on February 6 at 4PM via Zoom.

Join us next saturday as we explore the experiences of physicians who regularly come across the different faces of CVD, and uncover the barriers that hinder us from achieving cardiovascular health for all Filipinos. Let us bring both our minds and hearts together to identify the gaps of our healthcare system, and innovate solutions to fill its shortcomings with goal of reducing CVD morbidity and mortality in the country

Sa di mabilang na sakuna na nangyari noong 2020, ako ay nagpapasalamat sa patuloy na suportang inihahandog sa akin ng aking benefactor para makapag-aral sa ASMPH. Patuloy ang pangarap sa panibagong taon na ito. I am proud and thankful to be an ASMPH scholar.

The Philippines is known to have the longest lockdown in the world - yet we still fail to contain the spread of the virus, as seen in the exponential rise of cases. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Public Health Council presents the Webinar “Living with COVID 19: The New Normal for Public Health”, on 25 September at 5 PM via Zoom. The Webinar will bring together experts to express various perspectives on public health and the health system as a whole.

“Living with COVID 19: The New Normal for Public Health’” will discuss the following:
1. Experience of healthcare workers at the frontline by Dr. Aileen R. Espina
2. How to flatten the curve? by Dr. Romelei Camiling-Alfonso
3: What Can We Learn From the Pandemic?: Strengthening our Healthcare System by Dr. Edelina P. De la Paz and Dr. Raymond Joshua Lopez San Pedro
