𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐳 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐒𝐏𝐂

Izent Kial Marquez, a Grade 9 student journalist, earned 4th place in the Copyreading and Headlining category at the recently concluded Regional Schools Press Conference on February 26, 2025. The awarding ceremony was held today, March 7, 2025, at St. Paul College in Parañaque City.

Marquez outshone fellow young journalists from across the National Capital Region (NCR), showcasing his talent in the highly competitive category.

He was guided by Mrs. Karla Katrina Simbulan, the adviser of the school paper in English, who played a key role in Marquez’s preparation for the contest.

"I’m really happy with my achievement. This was my first time competing, so I didn’t expect to win," Marquez shared.

Other Sagadian journalists who represented the Division of Pasig City at the Regional Schools Press Conference include Gil Joaquin Barcelona (Sports Writing), John Andrei Tamma (Paguulo at Pagwawasto), and Erika Liwanagan (Pagsulat ng Balitang Agham).

The Division of Pasig City was recognized as the 2nd overall top performing division in the Secondary individual category in this year's RSPC.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Sagadian journalists Izent Kial Marquez (Copyreading and Headlining), Gil Joaquin Barcelona (Sports Writing), John Andrei Tamma (Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo), and Erica Liwanagan (Pagsulat ng Balitang Agham), along with their coaches Mrs. Karla Katrina Simbulan (SPA-English) and Mrs. Clarissa Delfin (SPA-Filipino), competed against some of the brightest young writers across the National Capital Region (NCR) during the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held yesterday, February 26, 2025, at St. Andrew's School in Paranaque City.

The winners will qualify for the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) to be held in Ilocos Sur.
