🔥 野熱 (ia luah) — extremely hot / very very hot
👉 今仔日野熱！
(Kin-á-ji̍t ia luah!)
= It’s very hot today!
👉 外面野熱，毋通出去啦！
(Gōa-bīn ia luah, m̄-thang chhut-khì lah!)
= It’s extremely hot outside, don’t go out!
🥵 熱到欲死 (luah kah beh sí) — so hot I could die
👉 今仔日熱到欲死，攏無想欲做事。
(Kin-á-ji̍t luah kah beh sí, lóng bô siūnn beh tsoh-sit.)
= It’s so hot today I feel like dying, I don’t feel like working at all.

For our everyday words in Hokkien, today let’s learn these words: 📈📉 “Khí-khí Lo̍h-lo̍h” (起起落落) —Going Up and Down.
In Philippine Hokkien, we say 起起落落 (khí-khí lo̍h-lo̍h) to something that keeps going up and down, whether prices, our emotions or even life itself. ☺
💬 Here are some ways we can apply the term:
👉 人生起起落落，是正常的。
Lîn-sing khí-khí lo̍h-lo̍h, sī tsìng-siông ê.
→ Life has its ups and downs and that’s normal.
👉 最近心情起起落落，無穩定。
Tsuè-kīn sim-tsîng khí-khí lo̍h-lo̍h, bô ún-tīng.
→ Lately, my emotions have been all over the place.
👉 最近油價起起落落。
Tsuè-kīn iû-kè khí-khí lo̍h-lo̍h.
→ Fuel prices have been going up and down lately.
