QUIZ BEE COMPETITION NEW MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES
GENERAL RULES
1. The contest is open to all bonafide students from the INET Department (Aero,AT,AMT,AVT).
2. There shall be three contestants per group (there will be no maximum number of groups per section) coming from different years and courses. The group members can be of the same course or not.
3. The interested groups shall register their names at the Faculty room located at the 4th floor Building B until Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
4. The questions will cover different technical and aviation-related subjects which will be submitted by faculty representatives from each program.
5. No cellphones, tablets, or any other form of communication device will be allowed on the contest proper. Shall any contestant fail to comply with this rule will automatically be disqualified.
MECHANICS
1. Each group shall confirm their attendance with the faculty-in-charge 15 minutes before the contest proper. There shall be no substitutes after the confirmation has been done.
2. Before the contest proper, the quiz master shall make a roll call of all the participants. Shall any student fail to have their names registered before the contest shall no longer participate.
4. The contest shall have two rounds: the elimination and the championship.
ELIMINATION
a. The elimination round will be on Thursday, September 9, 2015 at exactly 1:00 pm. There will be assigned rooms on the 4th floor Building B with the posted list of participants. The students shall look for their assigned rooms. Students shall come 15min. before the time for the attendance.
b. The participants shall play individually.
c.There will be three rounds (Easy, Average, Difficult). For each question, there will be a corresponding point.
Easy - 1
Average - 2
Difficult - 3
d. There will be no penalty for no and wrong answers.
e. Answers shall be written in capital letters.
f. Each participant will be provided by enough bond paper and marker.
g. The top five group with the highest summation of scores coming from each member shall proceed to the championship.
CHAMPIONSHIP
a. The championship shall commence right after the elimination at the same room.
b. The participants shall now play as a group.
c. There will be three rounds (Easy, Average, Difficult). For each question, there will be a corresponding point.
Easy - 1
Average - 2
Difficult - 3
d. There will be no penalty for no and wrong answers.
e. Answers shall be written in capital letters.
g. Each participant will be provided by enough bond paper and marker.
h. At the end of the round, the top-scoring team shall be declared the winner.
i. In case of a tie, there will be a tie-breaker question. The first team to score shall be declared the winner.
