| The Schools Division Office (SDO) 1 Pangasinan has harvested 8 out of the 16 Gawad Siklab 2021 regional awards adjudged by the DepEd Regional Office 1.

The eight winners from Pangasinan 1 are finalists of the Gawad Siklab national search thi year.

The eight categories won by the SDO 1 Pangasinan include:

1. Supreme Student Government (SSG) Best Implementer - Sual NHS

2. Most Outstanding SSG Student Leader - Bienesto Fidel A. Junio, Bayambang NHS

3. Most Outstanding SSG Teacher-Adviser- Dexter Sabangan, Labrador NHS

4. Most Outstanding Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Program Implementation, Sual NHS

5. Most Outstanding BKD Student Leader - Giana Ranielle M. Tiangson, Sual NHS

6. Most Outstanding BKD Teacher-Adviser - Daniel C. Galzote, Sual NHS

7. School Head Recognition - BKD Program Implementation - Carina C. Untalasco, Sual NHS

8. Most Active Social Media Award - SDO 1 Pangasinan DepEd Tayo - Youth Formation FB Page (Jane S. Burguillos, PDO 1 - Youth Formation Coordinator - Focal Person)

The feat was relayed to the SDO 1 Pangasinan through a regional memorandum received by the Youth Formation under the Social Mobilization and Networking Unit of the School Governance and Operations Division.

| On March 6, 1965, Presidential Proclamation No. 374 was issued declaring May 28 as National Flag Day to commemorate the date the national emblem was first unfurled after the Philippine Revolutionary Army defeated the Spanish fores in the Battle at Alapan, Imus, Cavite in 1898. On May 23, 1994, Executive Order No. 179 was issued extending the period of celebrating National Flag Day from May 28 to June 12. All Filipinos are encouraged to display the Philippine flag in all offices, agencies and instruments of government, business establishments, schools, and private homes throughout this period.

As part of this national observance, the Youth Formation of SDO 1 Pangasinan, in partnership with the Division Federated SSG, and Division Federated SPG, launches the initiative wherein learners of the SDO 1 Pangasinan are encouraged to display the Philippine flag in their homes.
