Sa mga magtatanong saan ko nakuha ang mga students ko,, ano prayers po haha! Kidding aside. It started with a prayer then may isang student nagtiwala sakin until ni recommend ako sa ibang students. I’ve been a private tutor for more than for 7 years now.

Things I have learned so far as a private tutor:

1. Di na bale masyadong mataas ung price basta consistent ung students.
2. Aside sa work dapat friends mo din ung students and parents nila
3. Chill lang, walang masyadong rules para ma feel lang nila na ahh okay hindi masyadong stressful.
4. Dapat makita nila na nagtuturo ka talaga. (Your students don’t deserve left over energy)
5. Connect with your students but don’t pressure them.

“Itong observation ko, effective sa class” pero iba iba padin tayo ng way of teaching. Yun lang and God bless! More students for all ESL tutors.

POV: Why do some students learn faster than others?

Dati, akala ko kapag hindi agad natututo ang student, kasalanan na agad ng teacher. Pero habang tumatagal, na-realize ko na hindi pala laging ganon.

Yes, bilang teacher, responsibility natin na magturo at gawin ang best natin para matulungan ang students. Pero ang learning is a two-way process. Kapag ang student ay active, cooperative, at willing matuto, mas napapabilis ang progress kasi may nagtuturo at may handang tumanggap ng lesson.

May mga students din na mas kailangan lang ng oras para matuto, at okay lang iyon. Iba-iba tayo ng learning style at pace.

Sa huli, learning is a collaboration between the teacher and the student. Hindi sapat na may nagtuturo lang—kailangan may willingness din ang student na matuto. At bilang teacher, dapat lagi rin tayong handang gumabay at mag-adjust para masuportahan sila sa kanilang learning journey.

For context, my student was telling me that she still has to study during her summer break, even though she’s busy every day. Why do some countries really prioritize education during summer break?

To help students remember what they learned and not forget it.
* To help them get ready for the next school year or exams.
* Because education is very important in some places.
* To help students stay prepared for school or future opportunities.
* To use free time in a helpful way, like learning new skills.
* To slowly build good study habits, even during vacation.
