In connection with the suspension of face-to-face classes in the City of San Fernando due to reported cases of influenza-like illnesses (ILI), the school health personnel, in coordination with the security staff, conducted thorough disinfection of classrooms and offices. This initiative aims to ensure the safety of the entire school population and to prevent the further spread of illnesses within the school community.
Disinfection remains one of the most important preventive measures to help reduce the transmission of influenza-like illnesses, which are commonly spread through respiratory droplets, direct contact, or contaminated surfaces.
When classes resume, all school personnel and students are reminded to strictly observe and practice the following health and safety measures:
*Wearing of Face Mask โ Helps block respiratory droplets that may contain viruses, preventing them from reaching others when a person talks, coughs, or sneezes. It also protects the wearer from inhaling potentially infectious droplets.
*Frequent Handwashing โ Wash hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after coughing, sneezing, or touching shared surfaces.
*Proper Cough Etiquette โ Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing to prevent spreading droplets.
*Regular Disinfection โ Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces such as doorknobs, desks, and gadgets.
*Avoid Close Contact โ Maintain a safe distance from individuals showing symptoms of flu or cough.
*Maintain Good Ventilation โ Keep classrooms and other rooms well-ventilated to reduce the concentration of airborne viruses.
*Healthy Lifestyle โ Eat nutritious food, get enough sleep, exercise regularly, and stay hydrated to strengthen the immune system.
*Stay Home When Sick โ Those experiencing flu-like symptoms are encouraged to rest and recover at home to avoid infecting others.
Through these collective efforts, the school community can help safeguard everyoneโs health and maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
