Book drive bridges PSHS-CLC to Sitio Target readers, opens National Book Week celebrations
ANTHOLOGY, the Alternative Learning Program (ALP) for reading and literacy of Philippine Science High School - Central Luzon Campus in Clark Freeport Zone, turned over 97 donated books to its new partner institution, Sitio Target Integrated School (STIS), in celebration of National Book Week (NBW) 2025 on November 13, 2025.
Aris Deverra, a Filipino teacher and the school's representative, mentioned how the school's lack of facilities and rooms is a more urgent concern over the rehabilitation of their learning resource center.
Besides infrastructure, the Sapang Bato school is also in need of learning resources on cookery, gardening, and livelihood education for its growing community of students from kindergarten to junior high school.
During a school tour led by Deverra, ANTHOLOGY Vice President for External Affairs Maria Bettina Tecson, Adviser Roma Angelou Dizon, and English Unit Head Kevin Nicole Gatus assessed the school's needs for relevant learning resources and committed to the implementation of the second leg of the library rehabilitation project with STIS and another target community in Porac, Angeles City.
The event commences the series of activities to be conducted by the ALP organization along with the Library Services Unit and the English Unit in the spirit of NBW's theme, "Tulay ang pagbasa sa búkas na punô ng pag-asa."
