The 𝓠𝓾𝓪𝓷𝓽𝓾𝓶 𝓠𝓾𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼 also the YES-O Club took the lead in a campus clean-up drive yesterday, 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, to prepare for the upcoming 𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐀 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.

With 𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, members worked together to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for all visiting delegates. 🌿✨

NEWS || To Barrio with Lab: PNHS' Community-Based STEM Project Earns Top 3 Spot in 2024 STARS Award

Pambujan National High School (PNHS) has achieved a remarkable milestone, securing a Top 3 spot in the prestigious 2024 STARS Award for its innovative project, "To Barrio with Lab." This community-based initiative aims to equip science teachers and barangay residents in Tula, Canjumadal, and Busak with improvised laboratory apparatus and equipment, enhancing science instruction in under-resourced areas.

The project, spearheaded by teachers Eufemio Adarayan Jr., Leah Cerda, and Syra Corong, addresses the critical gap in science education. “We were motivated to create this proposal because we have seen how science instruction is lagging behind other countries. Improvements must start from the foundation—the elementary grades. But seeing that our schools lack the necessary resources for effective instruction prompted us to take action,” explained Mr. Adarayan.

Selected as one of 94 entries nationwide, "To Barrio with Lab" stood out during the 2024 STARS Award Bootcamp, held in Makati City from November 23 to 25. Competing with other semifinalists, the PNHS team earned its place among the Top 3 through their compelling presentation of the project's potential impact.

As a finalist, the project will receive funding from the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) for full implementation in 2025. This support ensures that science education becomes more accessible to elementary students in last-mile schools, fostering a stronger foundation in STEM learning for future generations.

PNHS' achievement not only highlights their commitment to advancing education but also underscores the transformative potential of community-driven STEM initiatives.

Today, we celebrate such commendable people who, even at the wake of their tirelessness, would still rather choose the future of their students over themselves — teachers. 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 Their dedication and hard work will never go unnoticed, as each day that passes, we are greatly reminded of the passion that flows through them. 💖

Truly, teachers are like candles 🕯️, they burn themselves to give light to others. Without their undying support, we are nothing but mere learners who knew nothing of how the world works. 🌍📚

Amusement and excitement filled the PTA Hall on Monday, September 30, as students from the STE and STEM sections showcased their innovative, science-packed exhibits to various grade levels. The exhibits, part of the ongoing Science Month celebration 🧪, brought science to life in captivating ways.

Students from all sections participated enthusiastically in the hands-on experiments, guided by exhibitors who explained the scientific concepts behind each display. Applause and excitement filled the air as students explored and engaged with the exhibits 👏✨.

Among the highlights were the Grade 12 STEM-Angstrom's Lava Lamp 🌋, the Hydraulic Robotic Arm from Grade 12 STEM-Lightyear 🤖, and the Nucleation and Iodine Clock experiments ⏱, both from Grade 8 STE-Neutron. These exhibits drew particular attention for their creativity and scientific relevance.

More than just a display of knowledge, the exhibits ignited curiosity and excitement 🔍💡, encouraging students to explore the wonders of science. The Science Month celebration continues to inspire and remind students of the joy of scientific discovery.🌟🔬

Today, Monday, September 30, 2024, marked the commencement of the science month at Pambujan National Highschool with the theme 'Integrated approach in science and technology'. The STE and STEM students starting from 7 to 12 opened the event this morning, at 7 am, by showcasing their various exhibits and posters building amazement to the audience

Students from various grade levels and sections explored each exhibit, expanding their knowledge base, while the exhibitors gave them visual examples and let them participate in the experiments .

By 1 pm, the judging for each exhibit started with Sir Eufemio Adarayan Jr. serving as the judge. The representatives from each exhibit were asked to give clear explanations and show visual aids to help explain the ideas behind their experiments. This allowed a fair and better understanding of the concepts for evaluations.

Later in the event, the much-anticipated announcement of the top three best exhibits and posters was made, drawing attention from all participants and attendees. The winners, whose work stood out for their creativity and presentation are as follows:

Best poster winners:
1st: G8 Neutron “Nucleation”
2nd: G10 Fermion “Electrical Circuits”
3rd: G12 Lightyear “Hologram”

Best Exhibit winners:
1st: G8 Neutron “Iodine Clock”
2nd: G8 Neutron “Nucleation”
G12 Lightyear “Hydraulics”
3rd: G12 Angstrom “Lava Lamp”

The science month kickoff was a resounding success, showcasing the talent, creativity and scientific knowledge of the STE and STEM students. The event not only allowed learners to deepen their understanding of science and technology but also fostered a sense of curiosity and collaboration among participants. With the recognition of the top exhibits and posters, the day concluded on a high note, setting the stage for more exciting activities throughout the month and inspiring students to continue exploring the world of science.
