Sumorians are hyped up as the Intramural Meet 2026 formally commenced this 8th of August at Sumoroy Agro-Industrial School (SAIS).
The event kicked off at 7:00 a.m. with a vibrant parade of coaches and aspiring student-athletes ready to compete in the upcoming games.
The second part of the program opened with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, accompanied by the SAIS Rondalla, followed by messages from the respective department heads.
The crowd was then treated to an outstanding Poomsae Taekwondo demonstration. Following the performance, Mr. Paul Teodoro A. Morta, Head of the MAPEH and Vocational Department, delivered an inspiring speech.
"The Intramurals is not just a break from schoolwork. These games teach us to get back up when we fall and to choose positive energy. I wish you all the best of luck," Mr. Morta stated.
Immediately after, one of the Palarong Pambansa players from the Sepak Takraw Girls led the lighting of the urn, succeeded by Mr. Vinancio G. Albasin, Jr., Secondary School Principal II, formally declaring the Intramurals open.
The opening day did not just celebrate the start of the sports events, but also highlighted the dedication, strength, and pride of every competing athlete.
The Intramural Meet serves as a vital catalyst for holistic development within the campus, transforming students from mere scholars into resilient competitors. By stepping out of the traditional classroom, athletes learn the invaluable values of discipline, sportsmanship, and the mental fortitude required to bounce back from defeat.
