When the waters rise, we are reminded of two things: how fragile things can be and how strong a community can become.

Several of our fellow MSU-COM students and nearby families are now facing the aftermath of the recent flooding -damaged homes, lost belongings, disrupted studies, and uncertain days ahead.

Today, we choose to respond with compassion.

The MSU College of Medicine through its Student Council and the Emergency and Disaster Response Team, launches SAGIP SULTAN: MSU-COM Relief Drive to extend immediate support to those affected.

Batch Hiraya secured 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿-𝗨𝗽 in the Women’s Basketball Category after a hard-fought semifinal match against Sinagtala, ending with a 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝟴–𝟱.

Despite falling short of the finals, the team showcased unwavering teamwork, determination, and heart throughout the tournament, proving once again that Hiraya never backs down from a challenge. 💚

Batch Hiraya extends our 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 for a remarkable display of teamwork, sportsmanship, and passion throughout the MedFest 2025 Basketball Tournament. Every game was a testament to the strength, perseverance, and unity of the MSU College of Medicine community.

After years of falling short, 𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮 𝗠𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 finally rose above expectations, securing 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 in this year’s MedFest 2025.

It wasn’t just about the game. It was about every 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲, every 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀, and every moment of 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄. From finishing last for two straight years to standing tall on the championship court, Hiraya’s journey speaks of persistence, teamwork, and quiet determination.

In the finals, Hiraya faced 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻, one of the strongest teams in the league. They gave it their all, pushing every rally and every serve with heart. Though the game ended in straight sets (3–0) with a close 25–21 finish, the real victory was in how far they had come.

This year, they didn’t just play volleyball.

Batch Hiraya takes the top spot in the Chain Storytelling Competition, led by 𝗝𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿, 𝗥𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗼𝘆, and 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗻.
