The Marine Transportation and Marine Engineering students of Our Lady of Triumph Institute of Technology (OLT) – Pagadian gathered for an insightful Career Talk and Orientation highlighting the promising opportunities and dynamic pathways within the global maritime industry.

The session provided invaluable industry insights and guidance for the journey ahead—reminding everyone that while the maritime industry is competitive, perseverance and dedication will lead to success on each cadet's individual timeline.

For these future seafarers, today’s formation is where character, unity, and discipline are forged. Every step taken in line links their daily training directly to the broader goals of Southeast Asia: maintaining safe waters, upholding mutual respect, and advancing cooperative seamanship.

Formation is more than just aligning in rank and passing inspection; it is the daily training ground where character is tested, detail is prioritized, and true leadership takes root. Every synchronized drill and shared command serves as a powerful reminder of the core values that will define us as future deck and engine officers: honor, resilience, and unwavering unity.

As the demands of our journey continue to grow, we carry the discipline and momentum from yesterday’s formation forward into every challenge that lies ahead. Onward with purpose!

BACK IN THE RANKS!

Our first-year cadets hit the deck for their second formation. Building straight off their first assembly, our freshmen stepped into line with sharper bearing, faster response, and locked-in focus.

No falling back, no breaking rank—just steady discipline. The posture is cleaner, the squad is moving faster, and they’re truly starting to stand tall as one united crew. The standard stays high, and the grind on deck doesn't stop!

Keep up the good work, cadets, and continue to set the bar high every step of the way!

A REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS

To all parents out there, please remember: just because your child is already in college does not mean that your responsibility to guide and monitor them has ended.

College is a stage where young people begin to experience greater freedom, but along with that freedom come many temptations, pressures, distractions, and challenges. They meet new friends, make their own decisions, and face situations that may test their character and values.
Your child may be growing older, but they still need your guidance, advice, encouragement, and prayers.

You don't have to control every decision they make. Instead, stay connected. Ask how they are doing. Know their friends. Listen to their concerns. Remind them of their goals and the sacrifices you have made together.

Sometimes, a simple message from a parent saying, “Take care of yourself. We believe in you. Don't forget why you are studying,” can make a big difference.

Parents, your role does not end when your child enters college. In fact, this may be the time when your guidance matters the most.
Let us help our children become not only successful graduates, but also responsible, disciplined, respectful, and God-fearing individuals.

Monitor them—not because you don't trust them, but because you love them and want to see them succeed.

Your child's future is not built by education alone; it is strengthened by guidance, discipline, love, and the presence of their family.
