Even if we do everything, give our best sacrifice, sometimes we still won’t be enough for someone. And that can wound us deeply, because part of us hopes that if we just try harder or give more, we will finally be chosen.
But the truth is, not being “enough” for someone does not mean we lack value. It simply means that what they are looking for is different from what we are able to give. And if we build our identity on meeting others’ expectations, we will always end up exhausted and empty. Kahit gawin mo na ang lahat, di pa rin yan maging sapat sa taong iba talaga ang hinahanap.
This is why the invitation of Christ in the Gospel of John becomes so important: “Remain in me.”
Because in Him, we are not measured by performance or comparison. We are not loved because we succeeded in becoming what others want. We are loved because we belong to Him.
To remain in Christ is to shift where we find our worth. It is choosing to stay rooted in His love rather than chasing acceptance from people. It is trusting that even when others walk away, God does not. Even when we feel insufficient, He continues to sustain us.
And from that place, being rooted, not rejected, we begin to live differently. We no longer love just to be accepted; we love because we are already filled. We no longer give just to prove something; we give because grace is already at work within us.
So yes, sometimes we won’t be enough for someone.
But if we remain in Christ, we will always have more than enough of what truly matters.

There are moments in our lives when we feel worried, afraid, or uncertain about what will happen next, and in these times, it becomes difficult to find peace in our hearts.

In the Gospel of John 14:27–31, Jesus tells us, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you,” it reminds us that the peace He offers is different from what the world gives. It is not dependent on comfort or the absence of problems, but a deeper peace that remains even in the midst of difficulties. sometimes, we lose our peace when we try to control everything or when we focus too much on our problems instead of trusting God.

Like the disciples who were about to face fear and uncertainty, we are also reminded that we are never alone because God is always with us. Even when we do not fully understand what is happening in our lives, we are invited to trust that God has a plan and is guiding us always.

When we learn to surrender our worries to Him, our hearts slowly become calmer, and peaceful and that’s where we begin to experience a peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

In this way, we realize that true peace is not found in a perfect life, but in a faithful relationship with God who never leaves us.

The entire community of Holy Infant Seminary is blessed to celebrate the 29th birthday of our seminary bursar and academic dean, Rev. Fr. Ryean Jill H. Joaquin.

Fr. Jill, although you are not physically with us today, rest assured that you are included in our prayers and special intentions. We apologize for greeting you late and for posting this belatedly. No hard feelings, Fr. Jill.

We take this opportunity to thank you for all your efforts and sacrifices in making the seminary a beautiful place. Thank you for your patience and compassion, even when we sometimes fail to follow the seminary structure faithfully. We’re sorry, Pads.

We are grateful for your wisdom and your profound theological homilies. May this day bring you countless smiles and an abundance of pastoral zeal, inspiring you to continue serving God and His people.

As Bishop B**g has reminded us, “Padayon! Padayon! Padayon!” May you, Fr. Jill, continue to serve others with joy and zeal, strengthened by God’s grace and by the prayers of our seminary community.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus says that whoever loves Him will keep His word, and that love is not just something we feel but something that abides. A love that stays, A love that is guided, and deepened by the Spirit.

And that’s where I realized that maybe the love I’m capable of sharing was never lacking, it was just poured into the wrong places.

I noticed how easily I give my attention to things that don’t last, seeking validation, holding onto comfort, or even loving people in a way that is more about being needed than truly loving them as they are. I give so much of myself and still feel empty, not because I have no love but because I’ve been placing it where it never grows.

Jesus reminded me that real love begins with Him. Not as limitation, but as direction. So maybe the invitation is not to try to love more, but to love better. To let Go reorder my heart. To trust that the love He has already placed within me is enough if only I will allow Him.

In the End, love that comes from God will always lead back to Him, and never leave others empty along the way.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that we may have strong faith about his power and his love for us, but it is only conditional.

Sometimes we question God because of our trials in life, but we are reminded to put our trust and faith in Him even when we don’t fully understand. This is a reminder for us that God is always listening. He works through us in ways we may not see but we can feel.

Sometimes we look for God in big, extraordinary signs or wait for clear proof before we believe more deeply. We might say, “Lord, just show me a sign,” But Jesus reminds us that God is already visible in many ways especially in love, forgiveness, compassion, and truth.

When we see these in our lives or in others, we are already seeing God at work. At the heart of this gospel Jesus talks about prayer. He says that whatever we ask in His name, He will do, but it needs big faith and trust.

Sometimes we pray and ask God for everything, and we complain if our prayers are not answered. But the Gospel reminds us that if we pray, we put trust and faith in our prayer.

Even when we are filled with questions about the power of God, he will always listen to our prayer and is working silently. We only need to be faithful and to entrust everything to him. So be it.
