I signed off in Jamaica and thought the hard part was over.

After signing off in Jamaica, the journey home looked like this:

🇯🇲 Jamaica ➜ 🇺🇸 New York ➜ 🇵🇭 Manila
Everything was going smoothly.
Until it wasn't.

I arrived in Manila after months at sea.
My baggage did not.

😅

All I wanted was a clean trip home. Feet on solid ground. My own bed. Home cooking that wasn't mine for once.

My luggage had other plans a layover of its own somewhere between New York and Manila.

First time in years of traveling back and forth for contracts. Rough seas, delayed flights, missed connections handled. Lost baggage? New one.

The airline tracked it down. No permanent loss. Just a humbling reminder of something the sea already taught me:

You can plan everything perfectly.
The world will still surprise you.

At sea it's rough weather and diverted routes.
On land it's baggage carousels and waiting.
Same lesson. Every time.

Stay calm. Adapt. Keep moving.

I made it home. Luggage or not. That's what matters. ⚓❤️

Birthdays.
Anniversaries.

Every contract comes with sacrifices.

But we continue because we're building a better future for the people we love.

The answer is yes.

But there are a few things I already miss about life at sea:

⚓ Port arrivals
⚓ The routine
⚓ The view from the deck

Being home feels amazing.

After months at sea, the moment every seafarer looks forward to has finally arrived.

Disembarkation day. ⚓

Leaving the ship means saying goodbye to another crew that became family, carrying memories from ports visited, storms weathered, and countless meals shared.

Now it's time to go home and make up for the moments missed.

The ocean will always be there.

But today, home is calling. ❤️
