The Guild of Educators for Young Minds (GEYMS) proudly participated in Day 2 of the Capacity Building Program, entitled โSafe Spaces, Strong Leaders: Advancing Gender Sensitivity in Student Communities,โ held on June 2, 2026, at the Gordon College Function Hall Room 315.
Aligned with the theme, "Rising Above Barriers: Building Safe Spaces and Transformative Leaders for a Better Tomorrow,โ GEYMS officers joined fellow student leaders from various organizations in a meaningful learning experience focused on inclusive leadership, gender sensitivity, and community empowerment.
The seminar was facilitated by Mr. Christopher S. Sicat, Unit Head of University NSTP-CWTS at Pampanga State University, who emphasized that Gender and Development (GAD) is not solely about addressing women's concerns, but about creating communities where every individual is respected, valued, heard, and given equal opportunities.
Through meaningful discussions and reflection, GEYMS officers learned that leadership is not about authority, but about empathy, inclusivity, and responsibility. The seminar deepened their understanding of their role as future educators and leaders in promoting equality, respect, and belonging, emphasizing that true leadership is measured by the ability to uplift and empower others.
