This June 12, 2026, as we commemorate the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the Guild of Educators for Young Minds (GEYMs) proudly honors the courage and sacrifice of the heroes who fought to secure the freedom we cherish today.

In support of Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” the Guild of Educators for Young Minds (GEYMs) successfully conducted a donation drive for the benefit of Upper Sibul Elementary School on June 5, 2026.

With the approval and support of Dr. Jocelyn Fastidio, Principal, GEYMs donated essential medical and cleaning supplies to help create a safer, healthier, and more conducive learning environment for both learners and educators as they prepare for the opening of the Academic Year 2026–2027.

The donated items included alcohol, alcohol sprays, hand sanitizers, germicidal soaps, liquid soaps, as well as cleaning materials such as soft brooms, detergents, and dustpans. Though simple in nature, these contributions reflect the organization's commitment to service, volunteerism, and community engagement beyond the four corners of the classroom.

As future educators, GEYMs believes that education is not only about teaching lessons but also about fostering compassion, responsibility, and collective action. Through this initiative, the organization proudly joins the spirit of bayanihan, proving that meaningful change begins when individuals come together with a shared purpose.

May this contribution serve as a reminder that every act of generosity, no matter how small, helps build stronger schools, empowered learners, and brighter futures.

The Guild of Educators for Young Minds (GEYMS) proudly participated in Day 2 of the Capacity Building Program, entitled “Safe Spaces, Strong Leaders: Advancing Gender Sensitivity in Student Communities,” held on June 2, 2026, at the Gordon College Function Hall Room 315.

Aligned with the theme, "Rising Above Barriers: Building Safe Spaces and Transformative Leaders for a Better Tomorrow,” GEYMS officers joined fellow student leaders from various organizations in a meaningful learning experience focused on inclusive leadership, gender sensitivity, and community empowerment.

The seminar was facilitated by Mr. Christopher S. Sicat, Unit Head of University NSTP-CWTS at Pampanga State University, who emphasized that Gender and Development (GAD) is not solely about addressing women's concerns, but about creating communities where every individual is respected, valued, heard, and given equal opportunities.

Through meaningful discussions and reflection, GEYMS officers learned that leadership is not about authority, but about empathy, inclusivity, and responsibility. The seminar deepened their understanding of their role as future educators and leaders in promoting equality, respect, and belonging, emphasizing that true leadership is measured by the ability to uplift and empower others.

The Guild of Educators for Young Minds (GEYMS) proudly participated in the Rise-Up! Leadership Development Program – Day 1, held on June 1, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center, with the theme:

“Rising Above Barriers: Building Safe Spaces and Transformative Leaders for a Better Tomorrow.”

Together with fellow student leaders from different organizations, the GEYMS officers began a meaningful day of learning, self-discovery, and collaboration. Through engaging discussions, team-building activities, reflective exercises, and leadership workshops facilitated by Mr. Jonas Dupo, participants explored the value of gratitude, effective communication, purpose-driven leadership, and legacy-building.

The program emphasized that leadership extends beyond authority— it is rooted in empathy, integrity, and the ability to inspire positive change. As future educators and leaders, GEYMS officers were challenged to reflect on their purpose, strengthen their connections with fellow leaders, and embrace the responsibility of creating safe and empowering spaces for every learner.

As we continue our leadership journey, may we carry forward the lessons of this convention: to EMPOWER, ELEVATE, EVOLVE, and PRODUCE leaders who will make a difference and a lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
