On Friday, March 6, the Josephian community gathered at the Junior High School Quadrangle of Saint Joseph College Olongapo, Inc. for the 43rd season of BLITZ, a highly anticipated student talent competition held in celebration of the Feast of St. Joseph. Known as Olongapoโs oldest ongoing student concert, the annual event once again brought together students, performers, and supporters for a night filled with music, dance, and talent.
The event opened with the Solo Singing Competition, where contestants showcased their vocal talents before an enthusiastic audience. After a series of heartfelt performances, Maane Chloe Elemento was declared Champion, followed by Jianne Xyrielle De Leon as First Runner-Up and Romela Franze Alejo as Second Runner-Up.
Following the singing competition, the audience was treated to two special performances by faculty members. The first special number, โTBS: The Biririt Syndrome,โ featured Ms. Zheri De Leon, Ms. Anne Cortezano, Ms. Liza Oberez, Ms. Samantha Romblon, Mr. Kenneth Caranguian, and Mr. Mark Alterez, whose energetic performance delighted the crowd.
This was followed by another special performance from Triple A, composed of Mr. Ace Custodio, Ms. Ashllie Krisna Melencio, and Ms. Argyle Agapito, whose lively number further energized the audience.
The Dance Competition featured a single participating group, The Anxiety. Despite being the only group in the category, they delivered a captivating and emotional performance that left the audience in awe and ultimately earned them the title of Champion.
The excitement continued with the much-awaited Battle of the Bands, where student bands took the stage and delivered electrifying performances. Individual musicians were also recognized for their remarkable talent. Aris Alcantara took home the title of Best Vocalist. In the instrumental categories, Lanzo John Reuel Kabiling was named Best Lead Guitarist, Carl Yulas as Best Rhythm Guitarist, and Arkin Neil Oriendo as Best Bass Guitarist. The rhythm section was also highlighted as Ritchmar Anton Pineda received Best Drummer, while Rywel Allen Silva earned the title of Best Keyboardist.
In the overall band competition, Insomya emerged as the BLITZ 2026 Band Champion, with Reclipse placing First Runner-Up and Lovania finishing as Second Runner-Up. โ sa St. Joseph College Olongapo, Inc. โ Junior High School (SJC-JHS) bilang paggunita sa ika-40 anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power Revolution.

Along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, millions once gathered with nothing but courage in their hearts and a firm refusal to be silenced. They showed us that freedom is never simply handed overโit has to be claimed, protected, and practiced every single day. It wasnโt a parade. It wasnโt a staged photo opportunity. It was ordinary people choosing to stand their ground, meeting fear with faith and doubt with quiet determination.
Years have passed. The streets are calmer now, the confetti long gone, the yellow ribbons no longer bright against the sky. Yet the question still lingers: are we standing up for the freedoms they fought so hard to restore, or have we slowly allowed comfort and
indifference to take courageโs place?

Your small keepsakes rest inside a box,
Metal dulled by grieving hands,
Worn thin by a love that slipped through locks,
And pale with all our quiet plans.
This little token chills my palm,
Once light enough to make me floatโ
It does not warm, it does not calm,
It whispers I should have let you go.
The notebook tied with fragile lace
Still carries ink from yesterday;
And crumpled notes I canโt erase
Hold words you never got to say.
Some will claim that things are just things,
That sorrow should be quick to passโ
Yet every fiber stubbornly clings
To brittle bridges of the past.
I was only clearing out my room,
Dust and silence in the air;
So allow me this quiet proof of youโ
For love outlives what we must bear.

They do not simply hold the chalk,
They guide our steps in how we walk,
Shaping young hearts in every talk,

Through faith they lead, through love they guide,
Teaching truth with Christ beside.
Like the first teacher, our Savior and light,
Jesus Christ who showed us mercy, truth, and right.
They form our hearts to love, to give,
