Santa Fe National High School Educators Participate in Learning Systems Reform Policies Orientation
The Administration, Faculty, and Staff of Santa Fe National High School, under the leadership of School Principal IV Ronaldo G. James, participated in the Learning Systems Reform Policies: Orientation for Teachers conducted for cluster schools within the Santa Fe District under the supervision of the Division of Nueva Vizcaya.
The orientation, spearheaded by the Bureau of Curriculum Development of the Department of Education, aimed to strengthen and improve the delivery of education by equipping teachers with updated knowledge and deeper understanding of the ongoing reforms in the country's learning systems.
The initiative emphasized the Department's commitment to ensuring that teachers are empowered to teach with greater focus and fewer interruptions, design more meaningful and effective learning experiences, utilize assessment as a tool to guide and improve learning rather than merely assign grades, adapt instructional practices to real-life conditions and emerging challenges, and provide responsive support to every learner in all circumstances.
Several significant topics were thoroughly discussed during the orientation to enhance the professional competencies of educators and prepare them for the effective implementation of educational reforms. These included policies on Assessment, Grading, and Awards, which highlighted learner-centered evaluation and recognition systems; Education in Emergencies (EiE), which focused on sustaining quality education amid crises and disruptions; and the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Program, which underscored initiatives aimed at improving curriculum relevance and learner preparedness.
The orientation also tackled the proposed Three-Term School Calendar, strategies and standards in Lesson Planning, and the implementation of the Flexible Learning Program (FLP) to ensure continuity and accessibility of education in diverse learning environments. Furthermore, discussions on Work Immersion, Field Exposure, and Arts Apprenticeship provided teachers with insights into experiential learning opportunities designed to enhance students’ practical skills, career readiness, and holistic development.
The active participation of the educators from Santa Fe National High School reflects the institution's unwavering commitment to professional growth, educational excellence, and the continuous pursuit of quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education. Through activities such as this orientation, the school further strengthens its role in implementing meaningful educational reforms that will positively impact both teachers and learners in the community.
